Editorial Reviews

Winner! 2008 iParenting Media Awards "We really liked how you could begin in one part of the country and chose were you end up. The kids who acted on the show did a great job. There jokes were perfect for a 6-8 year old to get. We enjoyed the places that they went to also on the program."

"My children definitely want to visit many of the places on the video. They absolutely love the segment on the Vermont Teddy Bears and they also think that Space Camp in Alabama is somewhere we need to go. This video does a great job giving you a quick overview of some great destination for travelling with kids."

"My kids definitely like Emily and Alex. My son likes to pretend that he is Alex and takes his younger brothers on adventures. They are both silly without being goofy and they seem like they are enjoying the trips."

"It is nice that they appear to be adolescents who slightly younger kids can appreciate. The hosts are down to earth and genuine, which I like as a mother."

TripFlix is fantastic from start to finish! Divided into sections (East, Midwest etc.), this DVD takes you on a coast to coast tour of the United States while uncovering many unknown places and facts. The hosts, Alex and Emily are energetic teens who are perfect for the job and downright hilarious at times. The DVD is interactive and the viewer must answer multiple trivia questions via the remote control as well as choose which part of the country to visit. Other than a couple of staged gunfights , one OMG, and Alex and Emily drinking Sarsaparillas in what look like beer bottles, TripFlix is refreshingly clean. TripFlix is not only good for a fact-filled family watch, but would also be a wonderful addition to any classroom. Exceptionally educational and entertaining at the same time, Dove eagerly awards the Dove "Family-Approved" Seal to TripFlix . --Dove Foundation

KIDS FIRST!® Adult Juror Comments: Very good presentation, interesting and educational. It broadens the child's world by letting him/her take a look at what it is like in other parts of the U.S. Not all states are included and some states only have one fact presented. It is not boring because there are a host of activities that hold the viewer's attention. It offers a great snapshot of our vast country. Many of these places are famous destinations but some are destinations that aren't as well known which kept it interesting. The on screen child guides, Alex and Emily are perfect - the right age for 8-12-year-olds to look up to and appear knowledgeable when explaining facts. And, they are funny. Good structure, particularly because you can jump around to different areas. Good production quality. Entertaining. KIDS FIRST!® KID Juror Comments: Kept the kids engaged. "I liked it." "If I was going on a trip or learning about a place in school, this is a DVD I would turn to." They liked how you could pick your destination if you wanted or watch it all at once. The kids related to the child hosts, Alex and Emily. They loved seeing "all the different places in the U.S." They also liked the parts where they could answer the questions. It made them want to go explore different places like the ones shown. "This DVD shows us all kinds of cool places right here in our own country that are worth visiting. --Kids First!

5.0 out of 5 stars A trip within itself January 27, 2008
I received TripFLIX as a gift from a friend. After sitting down and watching it with my girlfriend (who loved it more than I did) I felt like I had just completed a trip across America and hit all the necessary places to make the trip worth the while - some places I didn't even know exist or would think to be as interesting as they were! The two stars, Adam and Emily, are great together and add a lot of fun to the educational content. Even though I can see this as being directed to a younger crowd, I found it thoroughly enjoyable.

My only complaint is that it's all over too soon. Though there are 2 hours of content on the disk, when it's all over, you're left wanting more.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stands out among the rest April 2, 2008
By Sara
My 4- and 6-year-old grandchildren received Trip Flix as a gift. It is far and away their favorite DVD, which they request to see over and over again. As a camp director for over 30 years, I was particularly impressed that 3 generations of our family equally enjoyed Trip Flix, beginning with these little ones, and we all learned something new! The "fun" factor is tops and the interactive aspect allowed each viewer to have their own experience. Our family highly recommends it for all ages--as a gift, you can't miss!

5.0 out of 5 stars My kids loved it! January 7, 2008
Tripflix is great fun! My kids want to watch it again and again and don't even realize how much they are learning. They learn factual and historical information about our 50 states in an enjoyable way, and Tripflix makes them want to travel to the destinations shown all over the county. The DVD reinforces what my kids are learning in school.
