This review is not about the product itself. My wife and I use the Triple Paste on our 12-month old daughter on a very regular basis, and the product works great, so please do use the product for your baby - it will work great.

My issue is that this product is being sold as a 16 ounce size; however, it is THE EXACT SAME SIZE as the 10 ounce bottle that we just finished using (which Amazon conveniently does not carry - we purchased the 10 ounce size from Target). Amazon did refund me 20% (which is still a little bit more than Target sells it for), but since we already opened it before realizing this, I was ok with this. I just want to warn you that you don't make the same mistake. We are Prime members and purchase items from Amazon about twice a week, but I just warn you - buy this one from Target - you'll save yourself about $6. I've attached photos showing them side by side, and on top of one another showing that the height and width are identical for the 10 ounce and 16 ounce sizes.

My toddler developed a diaper rash from thrush. I was using this product along with a Miconazole cream, and I couldn't figure out why her rash kept getting worse. I checked the ingredients and this paste contains cornstarch, which yeast love to eat. As soon as I switched to Burt's Bee's Baby Bee ointment (no cornstarch or any other yeast-food) the rash has quickly cleared. I'm sure this works fine for other rashes, but I don't recommend using this if you suspect thrush.

Although this cream is on the expensive side, I don't care because it is the only cream that worked on our daughters diaper rash. She had a pretty bad rash the first few months and the other more popular brands didn't work. I believe this one works because it is so thick and doesn't easily get wiped away by the diaper. The others are more liquidy. When your baby has the rash, after wiping, be sure her skin is dry before applying the cream (we usually patted dry with unmoisturized toilet paper). We then applied a yeast infection ointment that our doctor prescribed us and then applied a super thick coat of Triple Paste, "like icing on a cake" as my doctor suggested, to act as a barrier. We were going through these every other week to get rid of her initial rash but it was well worth it. Once the rash was gone, we have only been applying a thin coat and it is lasting at least a couple months or more. My doctor uses this cream in her office as well which always makes you feel good about the choices you made.

First of all, I'm not one who writes reviews... but I felt like there was probably other moms out there dealing with what I just went thru that could use this advise... so here you go. Like everyone else who's written a review - I tried EVERYTHING on my baby's diaper rash... I was so upset, so like you I did a search to see if there was anything else out there & found the Triple Paste. Based on the glowing reviews I bought it. So it's expensive - BUT IT WORKED-sorta... It takes a bumpy rash away (the kind that look more like hives) in a day... but my baby has had a BAD diaper rash since she was 5 days old (is 5 1/2 weeks now) and it turned into something that looked more like a burn with the skin rubbed raw on both sides of her bum right next to her hole & would bleed a little when you touched it... so sad! (we thought it was the acid in the poop burning her skin)... so the paste helped a little but not very fast (went thru an entire tub in about 1 1/2 weeks because you're supposed to put it on THICK & the rash just went down a little). I had been doing all of the home remedies people suggested: every few diaper changes dipping her bum in warm water in the sink (a couple of inches deep) with a teaspoon of baking soda (neutralizes the acid in the poop), rinsing out the wipes so they don't have the alcohol in them anymore (it's too harsh on sensitive skin), patting her bum with a wet cotton ball instead of whipping, and FINALLY the thing that worked in conjunction with the paste was a blend of essential oils rubbed on her rash each diaper change and then putting the paste on top to act as a barrier, after 1 day of doing that the rash is half as big! I'm NOT an essential oil rep, I don't have a loyalty to any one brand, but I was desperate.Read more ›

We were desperate to find something that would relieve our newborn. We'd had much success with Burt's Bees with our daughter (and still like it), but for a tough case of diaper rash, we switched to triple paste and haven't looked back. As a side note, for extreme cases, you might also try Calmoseptine (maybe not as a maintenance cream, but as an emergency). Just some tips to avoid a visit to the pediatrician for Rx cream.

Baby poops. Baby's bottom irritated. Baby cries. Mommy irritated. Mommy yells. Daddy irritated. The vicious chain reaction of diaper rash / irritation.

Apply Triple Paste. Baby soothed. Baby rests. Mommy calms down. Mommy stops yelling. Daddy free to work in garage and drink beer. The healing power of Triple Paste.

Like everyone here who gave it 5 stars, I am here to sings its praises. My newborn had a nasty rash at only 4 weeks and the expensive fancy ointment I was using was not helping at all.
I bought this ointment based on the reviews and it worked like magic.
In regard to preventing these nasty rashes: first of all, I must recommend (along with many other parents on this site who have said the same) that most breast fed babies should NOT be cleaned up with commercial diaper wipes, since breast fed babies poop many, many times a day and you are wiping their bottoms with these alcohol based towlettes about 10-12 times a day. I stupidly did not read about this or even suspect it. So my baby's rash was getting worse with use of these wipes. Once I switched to using warm water and disposable hospital grade washcloths, and used the Triple Paste ointment, the rash disappeared completely. It's a preventative care and if you have a newborn baby I hope this advice helps you as it helped me.
The price of this ointment is WORTH IT. Buy the large tub so you can apply consistently to prevent a possible future rash. You will not regret it and it will keep you baby comfortable.
