I don't know why neither of us thought about knee pads (and elbow and wrist protection) until after his accident, it seems perfectly obvious now!
Anyways, this set had a great number of excellent reviews and the price was pretty good considering you'd get a full package of protective gear, much less expensive than buying each item individually.
So, his second day out scootering, he hit a slimy patch of pavement, kismet? It was probably a combo of rain, worms (they flock to the sidewalks here, gross, right?) and moss (the pacific northwest is a mossy place) and he went down again, this time with the protective gear in place. His brand new knee pad is a bit scarred and scratched now from the impact but it protected him perfectly! Yahoo!
Same same with the elbow pads. The only complaint he has is about the wrist braces, they are so stiff that it makes it impossible to grip the steering collumn on his scooter, so he's had to leave them off. I bet they'd work great for people who are skating or skateboarding, though since they don't have to use their hands so much.Read more ›
Tried the 3 sets and I feel confident they will do the job (protecting covered areas)
Materials used are light, easy to wear,I am 140 lbs and medium built, they fit me well, purchased this items after falling down biking and sustained a painful strain/fracture on my right thumb.
I am 70 y/o and cannot afford broken bones IF I can do something to help prevent it.
I like the way the plastic append-um is placed on the wrist palmar face,it more likely will take the brunt on a fall with my hand extended and more likely will prevent a wrist fracture, notice I use "prevent" not sure anything is 100% secure.also have I had it on in my last fall more "likely"will have prevented my injury.
As for the knees and elbows they are more straightforward on design and anatomical expectations, again more likely will do the job on a fall.
Perhaps on a hard fall any of these may break,so? for less than $ 30.00 if I save an Emergency Room bill (many many hundred dollars) will be more than happy to replace the set.

My daughter likes the looks of the gear, and it keeps her safer when skateboarding.Published 3 days ago by Peace
Exactly what you need, for a fraction of the price, a little hard to put on, a little smug, but great protective gear and way worth it. Read morePublished 14 days ago by Nicole Sealy
Decent pads for low risk skating. I would definitely not recommend for roller derby or skate sports. Fairly low quality, fit well but just felt cheap. Read morePublished 22 days ago by Lisa Schmid
I purchased this package because I needed to replace my wrist guards and elbow pads for derby. It was cheaper to buy the package than each individually. Read morePublished 24 days ago by Smackopotomus
Very little protection, after a month, the knee pads where shot. My knees were bruised and sore after every roller derby practice.Published 25 days ago by Mo22
