5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for our purpose
We needed a very light, very portable and very inexpensive tripod for a short period of work at our church. This has been perfect for the job. The adjustments move smoothly, the camera is held firmly and it folds quickly to fit into the storage/carry case.

2.0 out of 5 stars Garbage! Embarrassingly unreliable
After I got this tripod I was shocked at how garbage it was. I don't enjoy writing bad reviews but I believe this product merits them.

Pros:
-Weight (obviously cheap material, lots of plastic)

Cons:
-Flimsy
-Not very versatile
-Panning was not smooth
-This thing was meant for a point-and-shoot, not a heavy DSLR of...

We needed a very light, very portable and very inexpensive tripod for a short period of work at our church. This has been perfect for the job. The adjustments move smoothly, the camera is held firmly and it folds quickly to fit into the storage/carry case.

This is not a professional metal tripod -- don't expect that in this price range. However, it is good for tourist type travel and general usage. I would recommend it for anyone with these requirements.

I would purchase again for our own use or for a gift.

I've owned this tripod for almost 9 months now and I love it! I've actually taken it to long trips such as Las Vegas, NY, and San Francisco and it's been very handy for long exposure shots,it's a little bit unstable when it's windy but nothing that can be solved by holding it down, it's really light and comes with a convenient bag.

I'm only giving it 4 stars because there are better brands that would probably give you a more stable grip, but overall it's a really good buy if you're on a budget.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cheap and serves the purose, February 2, 2009
This review is from: .. 57" Tripod for CANON EOS DIGITAL REBEL XT XTi 350D 400D (Electronics)
The product is really cheap but serves the purpose. It is easy to setup and there is nothing much to it really. There is a level height to set up the level correctly. Rods a mix of plastic and aluminium. It is light and easy to carry around. Good product overall.

Pros:
-Weight (obviously cheap material, lots of plastic)

Cons:
-Flimsy
-Not very versatile
-Panning was not smooth
-This thing was meant for a point-and-shoot, not a heavy DSLR of ANY kind
-Cannot handle the weight of even the lightest DSLR well without the head falling over itself.

As one reviewer said. This is a kid toy. Give it to a 11-yr old and watch him shoot everything in a backyard or a park. Give it to me or anyone who really wants to learn photography and capture well-exposed compositions and we'll most likely chuck it out the window. The $14 price tag for this should've told me something. However, price is not always an indicator of quality as we all know.

I bought a Qsx-9502 from this site for a little more (~$28). And there are MAJOR differences.

5.0 out of 5 stars light, easy to carry, very adjustable, September 12, 2009

It has a level in it, easy adjust legs, a sturdiness that's surprising for such a light weight tripod. It adjusts to over five feet, folds smoothly, and great for hikes, or timed pictures.

This has come in handy for our telephoto lens. It also is nice to be able to have everyone in the photos at one time.

This is a good buy for the price. It is a little flimsy but it does come with a carrying case. it is light weight and easy to move around. the legs are made of aluminum.i am kind of rough with my stuff and I had it for over a month now and I haven't broken it yet so it passed my test of durability.

I love it! This is exactly as described. Light weight and various heights. I wish the case was hard but it is perfect for hiking and having a steady hand when I need it.
