I originally bought this because it was cheap, and I just needed something to attach my Zoom H1 to a hot shoe. It did the job just fine. Then I got into a Land Rover with a lady going into labor a month early and we started hauling tail down a Kenyan dirt road as fast as we could. As much as my gear got tossed around in the back, this little guy held it's own. In fact, the H1 broke before it did. It did get bent a little bit, but it still got the job done. I'm plenty happy with this purchase, so much so that I bought an extra one.

I use this to mount my Timelapse+ to the top of my camera during long/multiple exposure photos. Works well and is decently made.

It is a little thick on the base so it fits way too tight on your camera, I used sandpaper to file it down a bit and now it works perfect.

This item must be manufactured without quality assurance controls. I bought this item mainly because I needed to mount a Beachtek DXA-4 field mixer to my shoulder rig, which is made of steel and has mounting holes all around it. I just unscrew the top wheel on the adapter, place the bottom wheel against the underside of the shoulder rig where the hole is, screw the top wheel back on and then screw the mixer on top. Works great. And for this purpose alone I had originally purchased this flash shoe mount adapter. However, when attempting to use it with one of my accessory brackets with the mounting slots, the adapter's square-shaped base is too wide to fit into the mounting slot on the bracket. I would have given this item five stars for it's superior build quality and sturdiness, and ease of use. But for not being able to use it for more than one function, I have to give it three.

Works as advertised. Fits the flash shoe mount on the ePhoto L-Bracket that I also picked up from Amazon.

I use it to attach a Zoom H2.

My only complaint is that the threading on one of the washers is slightly off, so it doesn't screw on completely evenly -- but this hasn't affected the function.

I ordered 2, and they were fine. One was a little bent, but it was a quick fix, then it worked fine. Both were very sturdy. I have used them for over a month with no other issues. I would have given a 5 star, but one was bent.
I bought them to use with a cowboy mount so I could attach a ZoomH4n to my 7D, and still leave space for my light. I great option for running and gunning.

Cheap & affordable...wait, those are the same thing? That's what this shoe mount is both of those. It's a great price for a cheap piece of painted metal although, it does work great!!!

Unique concept that works well. Use on non-video DSLR to mount PS camera for video. Myriad of other uses yet to be discovered.
