5.0 out of 5 stars Great product to protect your tv
This unit is very compact and fits perfectly behind a wall mounted lcd. While the unit is fairly small in size it weighs more than much bigger surge protectors that i have elsewhere. Also at 5100 joules it offers some major protection for your flat panel. The short cord is just right to keep things nice and neat. I read many reviews on Tripp-Lite products and how they...

A nice product in concept and with good performance specifications. However, if what you want to plug into this surge protector had a flat, offset plug the mounting strip for the unit may prevent you from plugging it in, your wire may hit the mounting flange preventing plugging your item in. Check your plugs and look at the photos of the product to make sure your plugs will work without hitting the mounting strip. I have this same unit on other items that the plugs do fit and it works fine. I can't believe it was designed this way, what an oversight. I had to send mine back. It's useless if you can't plug into it.

I read many reviews on Tripp-Lite products and how they saved others components from actual lightening strikes while other components using cheap surge protectors got fried. One less thing to worry about. At just over $30 on special its a no brainer.

Update: I attached an image of this mounted. You can see it by clicking on customer images. If you look you will see it has two green LED's that are lit. The reason why I mention this is that the center one is not lit. After reading the manual that center one that is not lit indicated that the ground to the power center was not correct. As it turned after checking the outlet I found the polarity was reversed even though the outlet was grounded. Using a test light i confirmed the outlet had the hot and neutral wires reversed. After fixing this now all three lights are lit and I know its properly connected and protected. The other two LED's light green to tell you 1) the surge compression components are intact and providing full protection for you component 2) Indicates nominal AC power is present with no wiring faults detected.

This indicator lights are not just for show and do work.

Does what it was intended to do. I have it hooked up to a Flat Pane. (58" Panny). Fits snugly behind it right on the wall mount.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works fine for me, October 1, 2010
This review is from: Tripp-Lite HT2210ISOCTR 2-Outlet Home Theater Isobar A/V Power Center (5100 Joules) (Electronics)
As others have mentioned this is a nice slim unit that comes with two power cords (an 18" and a 10 foot) - you choose which one you want to use. It is mountable with 4 holes (I have mine mounted behind my plasma TV). It has only two outlets. The indicator LED lights let you quickly check on the status. My only complaint is that the metal strip logo doesn't seem to stick too well and is coming off - that doesn't affect the functionality though.

Its nice compact size mounts well on the wall behind the 23inch LCD screen in my daughter's room. I like the option to use either the supplied 10ft cord or the 18inch cord. Both cords have a right angle connector that plugs into the wall so you can keep your armoire or chest of drawers against the wall. I hope I never have to test that this actually protects against surges but from the weight of it I'm confident it will get the job done. I bought a tripp lite 1ft Y-extension cord since I also had a DVD player and a Netflix Roku box to plug in (3 devices in all). My only concern would be a lighting strike thru the coax.

This is a great deal if you can get them under $60.

Two minor gripes...

1) It would be nice if the 2 plugs were turned 90 degrees so the grounds are facing out instead of towards bottom. I tried using a shorter power cord for the TV which had a right angle wall plug but it blocked the 2nd outlet. I'm not sure if it makes a difference which outlet you use for the TV but one of them is clearly marked "HDTV" and the other is marked "Accessory".

2) The 10ft supplied power cord is a nice size gauge cord but it's difficult to keep straighten out since it was shipped bundled in a loop. Hopefully it will be more malleable during its use.

** Update 10/2011 **
I have just ordered a 3rd HT2210ISOCTR, this one is different than what is pictured:
- It has an input/out for coax and cat5 connections for protection.
- It does not have an on/off switch.
- It is not as pretty as the previous make ... for updated specs you should reference the manufacture's website.
- The LED status lights are on the long edge versus angled on the front.

Overall, nothing wrong with the new model other than it has the same model number as the previous one ... I will miss the on/off switch. No regrets on this or previous purchases.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect solution, December 2, 2009

Perfect little setup for a dual display PC. Only use one outlet with a common OFF button. Also comes with 2 extra heavy duty power cords - one about 5 feet and the other just a foot long. I use the short cord so everything tucks out of the way perfectly. Can't say anything about the protection - guess I will know if the displays are still good in a few years.

This was the best purchase we made for a surge protector. Fit perfectly behind the LCD TV I had mounted on the wall, only stand 1.5" tall so it was perfect. I would highly recommend this if you want to protect you TV and don't want to sacrifice space behind the tv.

The Tripp-Lite comes with 2 power cords and is a good solution for when your flat panel TV outlet is on the wall. Hides perfectly behind the TV.
