A well constructed UPS. Comes with cables for all connections. Performs well in keeping my home theater going for a few minutes in the event of power failure. Poor Macintosh support for computer connection, but built-tin Mac power management control can handle it.

In the area I live we have a lot of power outages. I have the Tripp Lite hooked up to an HD TV along with a Satellite box. Now I have the opportunity to shut the system down correctly, and no more having to wait for the Satellite system to reconfigure itself when power returns. Much kinder on the TV too!!

I recently purchased the Tripp Lite HT850UPS Home Theater UPS because I kept getting intermittent power outages or surges which caused my satellite TV system to loose guide information or reboot my DVR's. Since I've hooked up the UPS, I still get power outages/surges (lousy electrical service!) but My Home Theater system no longer knows that it's happening! What a great product this has been.

Purchased this item to protect a home theater setup of HDTV and its attendant accessories, after purchase I was watching tv and the power kept on cycling on and off and dimming the lights, interesting to note that I never noticed the slightest flicker or interruption of power display on a very sensitive Sony HDTV set.

I was most impressed and made a sigh of relief considering the quality of this item protecting my valued home theater setup.

Purchase it if you want peace of mind, relatively so!

The power went out the day after I set up my Tripp Lite HT850UPS. My High Definition LCD TV, satellite receiver, A/V receiver and Blu-ray Disk player didn't skip a beat. They all remained ON, giving me plenty of time to power everything down. I now have three units throughout my home and wouldn't be without one.

I ordered the Tripp Lite UPS system to replace an APC system which never functioned well and died before its time. Support from APC was non-existent, so I needed another solution to protect my system. The Tripp Lite was easy to install and will hopefully serve my system well for several years. But it's been installed for just a month and, as the title of the review indicates, only time will tell.

I currently have two of these protection systems powering my home theater.Not only do they provide voltage spike protection but also can preserve the system condition (recording video for example) for enough time to gracefully shut down the electronics before damage is done.

The manufaturer's warranty is superb. I had a problem with one unit that had been used for several years. Tripp Lite

replaced it with no problem and within about two days.

I can recommend them and the manufacturer with no reservations.

I bought the Tripp Lite HT850UPS and after 25 months of use (one month out of warranty) it died. It did get me through a couple brown outs but it was dead. I called Tripp Lite and they were sad to tell me that my warranty had expired and now I have a very big and expensive paper weight. They offered to sell me a new one at a discount, about 10% off retail, I declined. After some brainstorming I opened the battery compartment to find the battery had been leaking. I cleaned it up, put a $15 12v rechargeable battery in it and now I'm back in business. Sad that Tripp Lite lost a customer for $15. I guess every company is just out for that mighty dollar, and not much more.

Great to protect electronics in your entertainment center. Great features for the money. Only one side is backed up by ups. Pretty heavy and built to last.
