Tripp lite has a great warranty, we purchased one, got struck by lightening. It saved my computer equipment, but burnt the protector. Tripp lite replaced it free of charge. I've had others on other electronic equipment in the house that have not lasted or protected as well. I'll buy tripp lite after this for all my valuable equipment.

The Isobar is a much better built alternative to the run-of-the-mill powerstips available at most electronics stores. Not only is it a very good surge protector, but it will also help filter and isolate your components which can sometimes help performance.

If you've ever noticed a "pop" through your speakers when an appliance in your house turns on, or if you sometimes get a humming noise, the Isobar will most likely solve that for you. It is a much better solution to a ground loop than using a cheater plug (which is not always safe). Plus the line fault indicator might point out a problem you never knew you had in your wiring.

Can't beat it for the price, and can't beat it for much more than the price. A great pickup for the home or office.

These things are great! I've bought three of them, and when I need more this will be what I get again. It's quite heavy and completely solid. If desired, this unit could be used to smash and destroy lesser power strips that are made of cheap plastic.

The real reason I bought this initially is for the high joules rating for surge protection. That is the metric that determines how much protection it actually gives you. This one does a much better job of protecting your equipment than many other units. Make sure and check how many joules of protection a surge suppressor offers before you decide on a unit.

It's just a power strip after all, but this has the feel of professional equipment. Tripp Lite also makes products that are used in internet data centers and hospitals, and this unit feels about as solid as anything you would find there.

I literally own about 10 of these. I have them on every electronic device that doesn't require battery backup (e.g. computers, entertainment centers).

It's nuts not to have either a good surge protector (not the junk you find in hardware or office supply stores) on multi-thousand dollar electronics or even $200 microwaves or rechargers. I had neighbors that lost their microwaves and televisions when we had storms.

It amazes me that people spend so much money on electronics and won't spend a penny or buy a $12 "surge protector" which is just a power strip.

I have a high-end washing machine that had to be repeatedly repaired because the electronics were fried due to the terrible electric supply quality (constant outages, brown-outs). Eventually, the warranty service told me they wouldn't make any more repairs unless I had a surge protector. I bought one and the washing machine hasn't had a problem in over 7 years.

I also have a fairly expensive refrigerator that's loaded with electronics. I put a Tripp Lite on that and every other electrical device in my house and I have never, ever had a device failure.

I'm astonished that people buy a new expensive electronic device and not use any surge protection. Probably the same type of people who never back up their hard disks and then go nuts when they lose years worth of data.

This product is first-rate. I've owned 2 of these for years. Works perfectly. Recently bought more. Wise investment.

Purchased this Surge Protector for additional computer appliances, I own already 3 Tripp Lite Surge Protectors and they have proofed to be the perfect protection. I like about them that they are built in a robust metal housing, have a flat wall plug (so they fit perfectly behind furniture) and Tripp Lite gives you lifetime warranty/replacement - I went through it and their service is exceptional, read below if you want to know more.

I had a very nasty experience a month ago when the transformer for our apartment building blew up... there was a short spike in the power supply which roasted most large kitchen appliances and a few other things in my home. Luckily I had installed Tripp Lite Surge Protectors for my TV set as well as for all my computer peripherals - the Surge Protectors took the hit and protected all things behind them.

Now the best thing and why I would always go again with Tripp Lite; After the incident I called Tripp Lite to find out if I can reset the surge protectors, they told me at the phone that the spike must have been to much and that I need new ones. At that moment I already was thinking to go and shop, but they actually asked me for my address, the serial number of the surge protectors and hey 3 days later I had brand new replacements in the mail!!! That is the customer service we all love!

How do you tell a surge protector is good. Only when equipment connected to it malfunctions or you have a surge. In my case, I plugged in a faulty power supply to the surge protector and although the power supply failed with a small bang and flash, the protector protected other equipment connected to it. So money well spent! Also, helped me identify all the faulty electrical outlets in the apartment.

This is my 2nd unit and I have been using the 1st for 12 years or more. Well built does the job. Never had a surge or spike related failure with the computer equipment plugged into the strip.

I bought this unit because it had a more "industrial" look and feel than others. It has a few design elements that I really like as well. It has a 12' cord - solid metal enclosure - 3840 joules of protection - off/on/reset switch - low profile 90 degree plug - "fault", "line OK", "protection present" indicators and a 12 amp breaker. I couldn't find the country of manufacture on the unit, the box or documentation inside the box, so I called. It was -- of course -- made in China. If I had been able to find a similar product made in the US, or anywhere else I would return this in support of those areas. Alas, no luck. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the product, I simply have several problems with supporting China.

I only buy this series of surge protector for computer equipment at home. At work I get these for offices, and the bigger solutions for rackmount servers. If you are a home buyer, do not waste time with big box store solutions that are made with plastic cases, and no real electronics on the inside. The Ultra series are made to run 24/7.
