4.0 out of 5 stars Great Product, Great Price
We purchased these 12 Port Patch Panels for our installs if clients do not request or wish to pay the higher price for Leviton... Quality similiar to Leviton at 1/3rd the price. No failures after 30 installs...

1.0 out of 5 stars Bad experience
I bought 2 of these. In the past, I've used Leviton or Siemons. The price for the Tripp Lite panels was significantly lower and I have never had any problem with Tripp Lite power products. None of the terminals on one side of the block (odd numbers jacks) worked. I could only get the pair 1 on each jack to pass. All others showed open. Had the same problem on both...

I'd never worked with a patch panel before, and needed a small one for my house. This was the perfect size, and very easy to punch down and mount on the wall. Highly recommended.

I purchased 1 of these several years ago and it really simplified the cobble job the DSL installation guy did. I cut out his mess and ran all my main floor Cat5 DSL lines to this patch panel. Then I used 24" patch cables to connect each to my 8 port Router Switch. Still working flawlessly 3 years later. Now I am buying a second one to tie in my DSL lines from my newly finished basement. The patch panels will allow me to select which eight jacks I want to make active through my router switch without rewiring. Makes my Furnace room wall look nice and neat without a huge rat's nest of cables.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great patch panel for home network, July 8, 2007
This review is from: Tripp Lite N050-012 Cat5e Wall Mount Patch Panel 568B - 12 Port (Personal Computers)
I fully renovated our new house, and in doing so ran cat5 to all the rooms to the basement. I punched down the wiring to this patch panel and mounted it in a distributed wiring box. The panel was easy to use with a punch down tool for me who had little experience doing so & it was well labeled so I didn't have to keep referencing printouts for wiring diagrams. Plus the price was right!

The Tripp Lite unit was just what I needed to add 8 new network stations. It was easy to install, and was easy to punch down the Cat 5 Cable leads. I have never had a problem with is reliability. Also Amazon has always been easy to work with.

Being as this is a patch panel, there's not too much to say about it. The punchdowns work just fine, and are capable of handling gigabit Ethernet. I've had my network up for a month using these.

We moved into a new office space that was already wired with CAT5. Not knowing the exact setup of office users, hardware placement, IP phone locations, etc., I decided to patch things into our routers and other hardware rather than directly connecting each termination. This definitely made the job quick and easy.

I have now purchased two of these (style) panels for both by home and my brothers. In both situations, mounting and wiring were simple tasks. I haven't had any problems with the panel popping out of the brackets, but I do agree with one reviewer the mounting bracket does feel a little weak. Overall: very satisfied and would quickly purchase again if needed.

4.0 out of 5 stars It works, February 22, 2008
This review is from: Tripp Lite N050-012 Cat5e Wall Mount Patch Panel 568B - 12 Port (Personal Computers)
Well it hangs on the wall and you can terminate all of your cables to it. What more could you want. I haven't had any issues with it falling off the wall, or cables coming undone so I say buy it!

The construction of the patch panel itself is very solid. I have no problem punching down all 12 connections. However, the bracket is a bit on the weak side. The patch panel popped out of the wall bracket easily a few times.
