I needed a new power strip for my home theater after adding a HTPC. I was previously using an old Monster PowerCenter HTS 2000 that I got for free several years ago and an APC office surge strip. I did a lot of research on various power centers, conditioners from Belkin, Panamax, Monster, Furman, APC and more. After encountering a lot of the same bizarre pseudo science and hand-waving one encounters in audiophilia and consulting with a couple of A/V professionals (not salespeople) I decided to skip that whole thing and just get a really high quality surge protector.I've seen Tripp-Lite surge protectors in server rooms and IT workbenches for years and the form factor was appealing because it's about the most compact way to connect that many devices and still have room for all the various power bricks and adapters. So I took a chance and ordered this. I nearly got the 24-outlet Tripp Lite SS7619-15 Multiple Outlet Strip w/ Surge Protection 15-Amp 16 outlets 15ft Cord 450 Joules but I came back to my senses once I realized that my A/V rack is 48" wide and the larger version is a full six feet long. In use it's actually very convenient to be able to group power plugs with all the space you have. I'm using 9 of the outlets now. As far as my sound and picture it's the same as when I used my fancy Monster strip which is exactly what I expected. My one caveat with this thing is that it's not very friendly to home environments if you're concerned about hiding it. It's a full 4 feet long, the power cord is black and very thick. It works great behind a piece of furniture and the shape means it takes up less space than "side by side" models.

- Get rid of 3 or 4 six ways.- The outlets are solid so your plugs don't slip out. - The aluminum framing is sturdy. - The 15 foot cord let's you place the strip almost any where in the room. - The switch is covered so you don't accidently turn it off when you are moving things around it. - You can mount it on the wall. - The outlets are spaced so you can plug wall warts(adapters) in every one if you want. - If this one is to long (about 4 ft) you can get a 3 foot version for a great price. Descent price, considering 3 or 4 decent surge protectors cost about the same but have shorter cords, less usable outlets(not much space for adapters) and requires more wall outlets to plug them all in or you have to loose an outlet to daisy chain them together. I have 4 of these and will be getting more.

Put an end to Cable Clutter,

This seems like such a mundane item, but it is incredibly valuable.Anyone with more than just 1 regular powerstrip's worth of items plugged in behind their desk suffers from cable clutter. I have 16 items plugged in (MacBookPro, Monitor, 4 drives, 2 printers, 2 scanners, USB hub, phone, cable modem, Airport, 2 lamps) and always cursed the tangle of wires on the floor. Now they are all plugged in to this strip that hugs the wall, and my cable clutter is almost gone. By far one of the most valuable computer accessories around!

I have a tv stand that holds my tv and all of my stereo equipment below it. One of the problems I have is managing all the power cords coming from the equipment, when they all have to go to the smaller Surge Strips, it becomes quite a mess. With the spacing on this strip and given the length, this is no longer a problem as all of the cables can be shortened and then plugged in nearer to each individual component. If you have a tall rack or wide rack this works great as it can be attached and help organize the typical cable chaos behind these cabinets.

Surprised at the great quality, and with the Amazon supper saver free shipping, this has to be a best buy, they are long enough to have to pay extra shipping via UPS.

Love, love, love this. I bought two -- one for the massive rats nest of cables behind my boyfriend's living room desk/work area, or Command Central as we call it, where we have multiple monitors and multiple computers dedicated to various tasks; the second was for our entertainment center, which also suffered from rat's nestitis. FINALLY, vacuuming and mopping are not such a chore; before I had to pick through what seemed like hundreds of intertwined cables and plugs and AC adapters and surge protectors. It looked like a computer geek's basement treasure trove of power supply exploded back there. Now everything is organized, each plug has its own outlet, and the power strip clings to the wall, up and out of the way. The strip itself is made of aluminum and is a sleek, attractive design. I purchased two more power strips from Tripp Lite, but this time the 12 outlet models (also aluminum) for two other areas where a power strip (but not surge protection)is needed.

My husband thought I was crazy when I ordered this. When it showed up, all 4' he really thought I was crazy, but once he started to use it, he loved it.- Uses just one plug for 15 devices. - Narrow enough to hide behind most furniture. Our's hides behind out desk. - You can mount it on the wall. I'm getting a second one to run vertically in the work shop. - The spacing is perfect for larger plugs There is nothing wrong with it I think. I don't even mind the length. Amazon shipped it free (thanks Prime) and I prefer the long and narrow to the short and stubby.

The back of my entertainment cabinet was a MESS. I had one outlet into which I plugged a 12 outlet power "strip". I had: TV, Cable Box, Remote Charger, iPod dock, receiver, PC, Harddrive, VCR, BluRay player, Wii, and a Subwoofer all plugged into this centralized hub of a charger. My wife was scared. To help sort it out, I bought one of these power strips, and what a difference! No longer needing to reach all cords to one location, I could now spread them out, and tie the cords shorter. It is still a ton of wires, but it is a lot less scary back there. I mounted the strip about 2 1/2 feet off the floor to help keep most of the wires off the floor, as well. I also love that I don't need a separate surge protector like some of these power strips require (at least for this type of equipment). The reason for 4 stars is, as stated by others, some of the larger adapters block the outlet next to them due to the orientation of the outlet. That being said, it is definitely the one I would recommend over others.

I have 3 entire AV setups in my house. The "man cave" in the basement has a lot of devices and they were all plugged into a mishmash of 3 separate outlet strips. I ordered this to consolidate things and bring order. It sure worked! I unpack it and it looks actually designed and styled - which is a plus. It appears to be anodized aluminum or some kind of anodized alloy (not sure really). So I spend about 40 minutes getting everything unplugged from old and replugged to this, turn it on and BONUS PRIZE! A ground loop (background hum) I had is GONE. I used all except 3 outlets which is perfect - I have a bit of room for the future and I've got most everything I need at this point anyway. Good product. Highly recommended.UPDATE 12/29/2011 I just ordered a 2nd one to cure the clutter of my upstairs system.
