5.0 out of 5 stars Great Layout
Finally....a surge protector with well thought out configuration. I use this with my PC. Some of the devices I have connected, have those large, odd-shaped plugs. With past surge protectors, these large plugs would take up the space of 2 outlets. This would force me to plug some of these devices into wall outlets, where they'd also end up covering the 2nd plug outlet...

2.0 out of 5 stars Poor workmanship
Received promptly, but the cable connection on the suppressor is defective. Would send it back, but can use it on a location that does't require a cable input.

Not so with this model Tripp Lite. I've connected all of my devices (printer, router, modem, monitor, PC, etc..)with room to spare. The outlets are nicely spaced to accomodate those large clunky plugs of some devices. I highly recommend this model!!

I got this for my entertainment center and it has sufficient ports to connect all the various devices. It is also heavy enough to stay in place and not get pulled around by the different cables like some of the other surge protection strips I have had. The cord is also long enough (maybe a bit too long) so that placement is not a big issue. There is sufficient spacing to plug in almost 5 power warts and not block any outlets. I have not actually had a surge yet (thankfully), so can't comment on how well it would work in that scenario. It does seem pretty well made.

A different model of the Tripp lite recently protected all my equipment from numerous surges due to a faulty electrical service. The Tripp lites were fried but protected my flat panel, computer, stereos, etc. That's why I bought this and because consumer reports rated the brand highly and an electrician told me they are the best.

We had a flood at our office and the Tripp Lite surge protector was on the floor, so it grounded out and melted completely. But we have not had a single problem with any of the electrical devices that were plugged into it! So I bought another one to replace it and I'll never use any other brand. I only wish they came with shorter cords, as this is a lot of cord to keep under the desk.

But we learned a good lesson: try to mount your surge protector instead of leaving them on the floor!

UPDATE: We sent the picture of the melted protector to Tripp Lite to thank them for a great product. They responded that we were entitled to a new one under our warranty, and even though we hadn't asked for one and couldn't give them any information on the old one (we had tossed it during the flood cleanup) they sent a brand new one that arrived today! As I said, I'm never buying any other product. This is one company that really stands by its products. Thanks, Tripp Lite.

Bought this on knowledgeable friend's recommendation and quite happy. Many outlets, a lot of which are spaced so no wasted ones due to big plugs and luckily so far no issues with it tripping. Can't talk about the tel/dsl/coax feature since I don't use it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Flawless, January 14, 2012

Flawless product. Excellent workmanship. Works like a charm. Got two lights, red and green that tell me it's on. I bought two. one for my tv, and entertainment system, (all that I bought from Amazon). The other for the expensive computer I bought. Is worth the money over the cheap surge protectors. I used a cheap surge protector and it burned my previous computer. why not spend 30 bucks to protect your 1000 dollar investment?? I learned my lesson.

This no frills, solid surge suppressor will not excite you, nor will it disappoint. The widely spaced outlets are a Plus. No hesitation in recommending this fine product.
