It could happen in the blink of an eye: a sudden power surge that damages or destroys your valuable electronic components. And even if a catastrophic surge never strikes, smaller power fluctuations and electromagnetic line noise can disrupt equipment settings and corrupt or erase important data. The solution to protect your computer and other electronics from surge damage and data loss? Tripp Lite's TLP712 Protect It!™ Surge Suppressor. In one compact, cost-effective unit, the TLP712 provides reliable surge protection for all electronics. It features a 1080-joule surge suppression rating—more joules mean more protection for your valuable components! The TLP712 also filters out disruptive line noise that can degrade component performance, helping to assure that your equipment performs at its peak.
|

The TLP712 offers economical surge protection for PCs, peripheral devices and all electronics. It provides 7 AC outlets, including one outlet that accommodates a bulky transformer without blocking other outlets. An extra-long 12-ft. cord enables connection to a distant wall outlet. Two keyhole slots on the rear of the housing enable the TLP712 to be wall mounted.
Various electromagnetic and radio sources can cause disruptive interference on the AC line. This line noise is a common cause of incremental hardware damage, data corruption and performance problems. The TLP712 incorporates technology that filters out disruptive line noise, preventing it from affecting your equipment, and helping to assure peak performance.
The TLP712 provides 1080 joules of surge suppression to prevent surges from damaging your valuable electronics. Includes full normal mode (H-N) and common mode (N-G/H-G) line surge suppression.
A green diagnostic LED indicates that surge protection is available. If this PROTECTED LED ever goes out, simply return the TLP712 to Tripp Lite for a free replacement. An illuminated master switch provides one-touch power control over all components.
The TLP712 comes with $25,000 Ultimate Lifetime Insurance—guaranteed lifetime protection for your equipment in case of surge damage, including direct lightning strikes. And it's simple: Ultimate Lifetime Insurance coverage begins the moment you purchase the TLP712, with no forms to fill out or send in. Additionally, this Tripp Lite Protect It! This review is from: Tripp Lite TLP712 7-Outlet Surge Protector (1080 Joules, 12ft Cord) (Electronics)
My apartment building has power surge problems. I have surge protectors on just about every outlet. This isn't the most powerful one I own (1,000 Joules protection is relatively good but not spectacular) but I'm not using it for delicate electronic equipment. I had an extension cord running from behind the couch so I could use that outlet for a fan and a couple of lamps. With the Tripp Lite TLP712 I don't have dangerous extension cords all over the place, I have use of that outlet and the things I plug into it are protected.
It does the job I bought it for just fine.

This review is from: Tripp Lite TLP712 7-Outlet Surge Protector (1080 Joules, 12ft Cord) (Electronics)
Ordered several of these items as gifts for friends who are into electronics/computers. Received everything I ordered online through AMAZON.COM from the Seller 365USA in excellent condition and packed very securely and showing care for efficient delivery. Received the shipment Dec. 17, 2009 via UPS so delivery was as expected, if not sooner. UPS drivers were hurried because of Christmas rush I'm sure. Items were as advertised and were in new condition still in original packaging. I would definitely recommend this item as a good BUY, even though there are many more expensive similar units on the market which offer a 'greater degree' of protection by number of Joules and Maximum Spike Current Amperage blocked from reaching your delicate electronics. Am a well-satisfied customer of AMAZON.COM at this point. Keep up the great work guys/gals. MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY, PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR 2010.

Very disappointed,

This review is from: Tripp Lite TLP712 7-Outlet Surge Protector (1080 Joules, 12ft Cord) (Electronics)
I returned this product. We have older wiring in our home, and there are surges all summer long due to the A/C. We try to replace all surge protectors once a year to try to protect our electrial items. This product had excellent reviews, so I purchased it. Did not work! There was only one place where I was able to plug in a 3 prong connection.
I don't have a lot of strength in my hands right now, but I was still able to plug in devices in other new surge protectors. Looking at the strip, there is some type of metal running through the 3rd prong area that prevents any cord from going in. Bought 2 of the 6 outlet surge protectors, and had the exact same problem. Also returned those.
