Most surge protectors have very short cords, of course; since this one does not, it's twice as useful and considerably safer if you need one positioned a ways away from the nearest outlet. Which I did, so I'm happy. All seven outlets and the lighted switch work as advertised. It doesn't smell funny, and it lies flat on the floor. What's not to like?
