It could happen in the blink of the eye: a sudden power surge that damages or destroys your valuable electronic components. And even if a catastrophic surge never strikes, smaller power fluctuations and electromagnetic line noise can disrupt equipment settings and corrupt or erase important data. The solution to protect your computer and other electronics from surge damage and data loss? Tripp Lite's TLP825 Protect It!™ Surge Suppressor. In one compact, cost-effective unit, the TLP825 provides reliable surge protection for all electronics. It features a high 1440-joule surge suppression rating—more joules mean more protection for your valuable components! The TLP825 also filters out disruptive line noise that can degrade component performance, helping to assure that your equipment performs at its peak.
|

The TLP825 offers cost-effective surge protection for PCs, peripheral devices and all electronics. It provides 8 AC outlets, including 3 widely spaced outlets that accommodate bulky transformers without blocking other outlets. An extra-long 25-ft. cord enables connection to a distant wall outlet and a space-saving right-angle plug allows furniture to be placed flush against the wall.
Various electromagnetic and radio sources can cause disruptive interference on the AC line. This line noise is a common cause of incremental hardware damage, data corruption and performance problems. The TLP825 incorporates technology that filters out disruptive line noise, preventing it from affecting your equipment, and helping to assure peak performance.
The TLP825 features the highest surge protection rating in its class—1440 joules of surge suppression to prevent surges from damaging your valuable electronics. Includes full normal mode (H-N) and common mode (N-G/H-G) line surge suppression.

Two diagnostic LEDs (GROUNDED & PROTECTED) show power and protection status, enabling you to recognize power problems before they affect your valuable equipment. The GROUNDED LED verifies that the TLP825 is connected to a properly grounded wall outlet. The PROTECTED LED indicates that surge protection is available. If this PROTECTED LED ever goes out, simply return the TLP825 to Tripp Lite for a free replacement. Additionally, an audible alarm will sound if surge protection circuitry suffers fails—perfect for installations where the LEDs are not visible. An illuminated master switch provides one-touch power control over all components.
The TLP825 comes with $75,000 Ultimate Lifetime Insurance—guaranteed lifetime protection for your equipment in case of surge damage, including direct lightning strikes. And it's simple: Ultimate Lifetime Insurance coverage begins the moment you purchase the TLP825, with no forms to fill out or send in. Additionally, this Tripp Lite Protect It! Surge Suppressor is backed by a lifetime product warranty and a rapid-response, no-questions-asked replacement policy that's unmatched in the industry.
Tripp Lite manufactures a full line of power and connectivity solutions—UPS systems, power distribution units, surge suppressors, cables and connectivity solutions, rack enclosures and more—for every application, from the desktop to the datacenter.

This review is from: Tripp Lite TLP825 8-Outlet Surge Protector (1440 Joules, 25ft Cord) (Electronics)
We recently bought a cabin that has limited wall sockets. With the purchase of this 25' surge protector we were able to go the length of the wall. Now we able to have a TV where we wanted it. We were happy with the quick delivery through Amazon and the convenience and peace of mind with our entertainment center...in the proper place.

This review is from: Tripp Lite TLP825 8-Outlet Surge Protector (1440 Joules, 25ft Cord) (Electronics)
I bought this to add extra outlets to a wall socket 18-20' away from my desk at work and couldn't be more pleased with it. It's really hard to find surge protectors with long cords, much less 25' but Amazon is awesome (as always!) and I find myself recommending this to people instead of using a separate extension cord and surge protector. I have a refrigerator, 2 PC's, a 24" LCD monitor, a printer and fan all plugged into this thing and it's delivered solidly for almost a year. The status lights are pretty bright so they're easy to look at if anything is going on with the power.
It is a little pricey compared to other surge protectors but it's well worth the cost.

This is a good power strip, and offers great outlet access and form factor. It IS for certain uses, so I'm not saying the flat-brick style is for everyone or every desk. The real sell is that this comes with a super-long cord, which keeps you from having to use extension cords to snake across floors or for temporary setups. We needed many of these because our local fire code prohibits the use of an extension cord in semi-permanent installations.
