works as advertised....cost almost nothing. I just returned an equivilant to best buy...cost $35.00.... ridiculous. this cable appears to be of even better quality and transfer rate.

For some reason this cable shows up when one searches Amazon for "micro USB" -- and from the angle the product shot was taken you can't see that the device-end of the cable is a big fat "printer type" USB connection. In the photo it looks flat and similar to other illustrations of micro USB cables. But it's not.

I wasn't familiar enough with the USB connector designations to be suspicious. I've now learned that ALL sizes of USB device connectors (i.e. the end that you DON'T plug into your computer) are called "B", and you have to pay close attention to whether it's a plain "B" (like this cable, for printers, scanners, etc.), a "mini B" (and there may actually be two sizes of mini), or a "micro B" (what I needed for my cell phone).

Live and learn. For less than five bucks each I'm not going to bother returning these -- they're perfectly good USB A/B cables, and you never know when you'll need an extra one, or a longer one. (At 10 feet these are longer than most -- handy for placing a printer a bit further away from your PC.) And when you suddenly realize you need one, you DON'T want to pay retail store prices for any cable!

Country-of-origin note: made in China. (What did you expect?)

Sometimes, not very often, but on occasion when I'm working into the wee hours of the morning I can hear, but only faintly, the gold plated connectors denouncing the rather pedestrian connectors of all of my other USB cables. Once, my external hard drive cable, a finicky connection under the best of circumstance, was so distraught it simply ceased to function and had to be replaced with a compatriot from the Tripp cabal. Now I fear there is a conspiracy underfoot to force me to replace all of my cables.

You see, since they are backward compatible and less costly than cables you generally find in brick and mortar stores, they feel superior...but only until I marshall the courage to complete my wireless installation, then what will they do?

It's a cable. It works.

Why be held hostage to the higway robbery pricing of Big Box electronic stores for the indispensable cables to hook up your stuff?
This USB a/b cable functions exactly as it should, is well manufactured and is reaonably priced.
What more can you say?

I picked up on comments by other reviewers who noted that the Canon MP830 does not come with the cable you need to connect it to your computer. Several recommended this one. I've been using it for 2 weeks with no problem and it is much cheaper than others on the market.

Trust me, your USB device won't care where you bought this, but your wallet will.

In other words, this cable will perform just as well as the one you would buy at a retail store for 5x - 10x the price.

I connected my G4 imac to a Canon Pixma 460 printer without a problem. Saved $25.00 buying Tripp Lite USB cable than the Canon suggested Belkin cable. The Tripp Lite is quality and reliable!

Had to buy the cables for my new printer - looked everywhere locally and these were the best ones for the money - work great

everything it says it does, it does. Apparently, it comes with a lifetime warranty, I hope I don't need it. (have had the cable for 6 months)

At various office stores USB 2.0 cables cost upwards of $35.00 - I got this one with gold connectors, for much less, and shipping was super-fast. The most important thing, when I used it to connect my printer/scanner to my computer, it worked like a charm.

I'd buy more cables from Tripp Lite without hesitation.
