Bait and Switch,

This review is from: Tripp Lite U022-015 15-Feet USB2.0 Certified Gold A/B Device Cable (Personal Computers)
The company that said they had this Tripp Lite U022-015 15-Feet USB2.0 Certified Gold A/B Device Cable lied.
They attached themselves to the Amazon description page, as one of the "others with this product for sale" Obviously, I went with them, because their price was very cheap, and since I was getting the exact same Tripp Lite USB cable, I would be coming out ahead, right?! What I recieved was a thin, no-name cable with nickel plated connections instead of gold, and no description of double shielding, etc. I don't know how they think it is OK to bait and switch like that. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to return and reorder, but luckily we haven't had any problems yet. We have been having connection issues, and possible noise interferrence, and really needed the Tripp Lite to help us rule out the sources of these problems, but ultimately had to ship what we were given. I could have gotten other no name brand USB cables cheaper through my regular cable supplier, had I known I would not in fact be recieving the Tripp Lite that was being advertised. I'm not educated enough in the Amazon process of adding to a listing like this, claiming to have the same product for a price, so I don't blame Amazon. I am hoping, of course, that there is some claims department that will sanction a seller like this for false advertisement. It is in Amazon's best interest to keep the buyers happy in a situation like this... Again, I don't think the Tripp Lite cable is bad - I didn't recieve those to test. I also am not directly blaming or suggesting malfeasance on the part of Amazon, but rather the seller "Cmple" for thinking it is OK to claim to have something, and switch it with what they really had the whole time. They never had the name brand more expensive, double shielded, gold plated USB cable. They just used the product description page as a clearing house for their cheap cables.

I purchased two Tripp Lite USB cables (a 15ft and a 10ft), and am very pleased with them. They are very high quality, and the price is much, much better than you can find at a retail store.

I can't say anything bad about this cable, it works well, came in a good easy to deal with package and was delivered to me very fast. Works well and the price seems right.

I bought the same length cable off ebay trying to save money and the piece of junk would not work.
So its best to buy a brand name for a cable this length since this is probably the longest you can use for USB.

The Tripp Lite 15-Feet USB 2.0 Certified Gold A/B Device Cable (phew!) is... a USB cable. Like, how do you review a USB cable? It has gold, or at least gold-colored, ends, which snap snugly into the slots they're designed to fit. I was expecting perhaps a bit heavier rubber casing, but it's better than the cheap off-brand cables you get at [insert generic chain store name here] . It worked for what I needed it to -- trying to hide a cable run along the baseboard from one side of the room to the other for a set of USB audio speakers. I had no worries about kinking or breaking it as I worked it around corners and through cracks. The best thing is, I didn't have to make trips to various stores around town trying to find a cable the right length. I ordered the cable from Amazon and had it three or four days later. Oh, it comes in a little plastic bag, rather than carded with a lot of unnecessary molded plastic packaging.

Great USB cable - much cheaper that in the computer stores. Have used 6', 10' and 15' cable length, all with gold tips.
