He's more flexible on this album like I wouldnt even imagined him being such good beats and sounding real nice on them.

GREAT CD!!!!!!!!!!!!
I believe K. Hood "Rayfellet" said it best.
This album is snoops best next to doggy style. It has such an original sound throughout the album. DJ Quik, Snoop and Teddy Riley have made a masterpiece
1. (A Word Witchya!) 5/5 Smooth intro
2. (Press Play) 5/5 So so, funky. Quik did it on this track
3. (SD Is Out) 5/5 Good follow up to press play, HUGE BASS!
4. (Gangsta Like Me) 4/5 classic Snoop, with a twist
5. (Neva Have 2 Worry) 2/5 song gets tired and is a biography song
6. (Sexual Eruption) 4/5 Radio song obviously, Love the Roger Troutman touch with the voice box.
7. (Life of da Party) 3/5 Good bass, Dance cut.
8. (Waste of Time) 5/5 Smooth track, very well produced
9. (Cool) 4.5/5 This a great cover to an epic 80's track
10. (Sets Up) 2/5 Weak track, very repetitive.
11. (Deez Hollywood) 4/5 Classic old scooh sound.
12. (Whateva U do) 5/5 Diss song to many! Good production!
13. (Staxxx In My Jeans)3/5 Gangsta Gangsta, takes me back to Topp Dawg.
14. (Been Around tha world) 5/5 clean bass and a fresh sound.
15. (Let It Out) 4/5 Fun track.
16. (My Medicine) 5/5 SNOOP DONE COUNTRY! It works too!
17. (Ridn In My Chevy) 2/5 Too Dirrrty south for snoop.
18. (Those Gurlz) 5/5 Classic Cali Beat. Sun is shining on this track!
19. (One Chance) 5/5 smooooooooooooth.
20. (Why did you Leave Me) 2/5 Clean track, but very very very whiny.
21. (Can't Say Goodbye) 4/5 Sounds a bit like 2pac's Changes.
All in all this is a smooth album with excellent production. The album as a whole is amazing and creative. When is DJ Quik putting out an Album?

I had some high hopes for this album when I heard Snoop Dogg brought Teddy Riley in for some production and DJ Quik to do the mixing. Together they'd be known as QDT and were going to oversee the musical production of the album. Overall, I like the three of them together, as far as talent in the industry goes they are an impressive lineup. The songs Teddy Riley does for Snoop are hit and miss, but some are the best on the cd. "SD Is Out" knocks and has a great piano riff and chorus. Snoop said before the album he was going to use a few ghost writers and on this one he used Soopafly as he is credited in the lining notes, which when you hear you can tell. "Those Gurlz" is produced by Riley and DJ Quik, the two work well together, and on this one Snoop came with a smooth flow. The deep swaying bass makes the beat and this is what the album should be sounding like. Another good one is "Can't Say Goodbye" with Charlie Wilson and Snoop talking about his life and all that, nice way to end the album I guess. "Cool" is a remake of "Time" by Morris Day and really catches you off guard, very fast paced. Snoop is singing and sounding very strange. I like the experiment and it sounds great for a remake but as far the album is concerned it's not going with the flow. I guess one word to sum it up would be random. A few other tracks done by Teddy Riley that I wasn't all that into included "Gangsta Like Me". It's really not a bad beat and Snoop comes correct but the chorus is annoying and I think it messes up the whole song. Also didn't like "Let It Out" for some reason.

DJ Quik produced the song "Press Play" which has Kurupt adding vocals throughout. Snoop comes with an old school flow and Quik comes with a beat that's different than his usual style.

To Snoop: You did well with giving us Blue Carpet Treatment, but on this one your ego got the best of you and the worse of our pockets. I believe you put a lot into it, but with the wrong producers. You should have stuck with Dr. Dre. I know you are the type to help out everybody and we all know that Teddy Riley and DJ Quick could use a dollar, but you have a reputation to live up to. I'm yawning on this one.

To the fans- I am not sure if you will like this one. Maybe one or two songs are good out of 21 that's on there. That is bad. This album was a waste of studio time. Sorry.

First things first, EGO TRIPPIN' isn't as good as Snoop's last album, THA BLUE CARPET TREATMENT. Also, it isn't a bad album by any means either - just a flawed album. Sure, "Sensual (Sexual) Seduction" gave Snoop his first top-ten hit since 2004's ubiquitous Neptunes helmed "Drop It Like It's Hot" reached #1 (not counting Akon's #1 with Snoop, "I Wanna F**k You"), but "Sensual Seduction" isn't enough to make EGO TRIPPIN', which is pretty good, a truly great or innovative album. Sure, Snoop rocks the vocoder out on "Sensual Seduction", but a vocoder doesn't make up for some of EGO TRIPPIN' laxer moments.

The album starts with the typical forgettable interlude, then follows with "Press Play", which is ultimately forgettable as well. Snoop ignites the flame with "SD is Out", an undeniably catchy track in which you feel Snoop is at least somewhat in his element. Sure, it isn't the second coming by any means, but it works. "Gangsta Like Me" follows in the same boat as "SD is Out" - it is catchy, though not as great as some of the best songs appearing on 2006's THA BLUE CARPET TREATMENT. Similarly still, "Never Have 2 Worry" is solid, though not earth shattering. The background vocals are fantastic here and Snoop does still sound "relevant" if not 100% fresh this round. Finally, "Sexual Eruption" (or "Sensual" depending on the version), comes and revives some sense of true, inspired vitality within EGO TRIPPIN'. It is followed by another excellent track, "Life of Da Party" which features inspired guest turns from several rappers, with the standout being Too $hort. Snoop sounds like he has salvaged his image on this track more so than the earlier tracks.
