4.0 out of 5 stars Great, perfect atmosphere., August 24, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Triptycal (Audio CD)
This is a great atmosphere CD. I had it for a long time on my Amazon wish list, and then, I ordered it. This CD allows you to enjoy a sophisticated, music, but, if you choose to, you can just lean back and chill out with the music. The trumpet sound reminds me of Mark Isham, and at times even Miles' blue tone.

This is a fantastic album. You have never heard music like this, I can assure you. Neill's dance between mute and non-mute trumpet filtered through his computer creates wonderful textures of sound. You might think: trumpet and electronics? Amazingly, it works, and how. It's virtually impossible to describe this album, but turn the lights out, sit back and relax, and Neill will gently blow you out of your mind.

In my opinion, this is Ben Neill`s best cd. Excellent "Ambient Trip". Track 2 (Chemistry of 7) alone is worth the cd.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Soundscape, February 18, 2008
This review is from: Triptycal (Audio CD)
I came across Ben Neill on SomaFM's GrooveSalad. The song was Chemistry of 7. After hearing that and the previews of this album on Amazon I just had to get my hands on it. This album is a complete collection of electronic soundscapes lifted and made whole by both muted and unmuted trumpet tracks that weave in and out of your mindscape like a silk pillow against your cheek. Buy it... now... yes, now!
