Very helpful
I agree. It obviously was not intended to be your first and only banjo instruction but it is exactly what the title says it is, essential practice techniques. The publisher was also very helpful when I lost the tablature shortly after receiving the DVD and they replaced it for no cost.

Not very useful
I bought and didn't like this much at all. I am a beginning banjo player and found it just gave exercise after exercise without any songs that were fun. I would not recommend it.

This DVD is great. The reviewer above is correct in that it has many practice execises. That is what the entire DVD is about. This DVD is absolutely essential if you want to improve your rolls, timing, and technique. This is like sitting down for a good serious lesson. You can work for a good long time with this excellent DVD. Tony gives many personal tips as well. Highly recommended for real progress!

These practice routines will "train" your fingers to move with less conscious thought. Anyone who can master the exercises in this DVD will have no problem being a professional banjo player.
