The start of something good,
By Jake Z "holden84" (Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Trisha Yearwood (Audio CD)
This is Trisha Yearwood's self titled debut album. The album was produced by Garth Fundis, who she has worked with many times. There's a collaboration with Garth Brooks, top songwriters, what more do you need? Yearwood is one of my favorite female country singers, because she sings better than most of her peers. Her voice is very good at emoting, she can go from a whisper to a scream in a second FLAT. She really makes you feel what she is singing. There was some big hits from this album including the classic "She's In Love With The Boy", the ballad "The Woman Before Me", the uptempo "That's What I Like About You" and the ballad with Garth Brooks singing backup titled "Like We Never Had A Broken Heart". Other highlights include "The Whisper Of Your Heart", "Fools Like Me" and "Victim Of The Game". Overall a strong debut!

one of the best debut CDs i've ever heard,

This review is from: Trisha Yearwood (Audio CD)
Trisha Yearwood is the best female country artist today. I don't think I'm alone in this opinion -- Garth Brooks calls upon her frequently for background vocals. This self-titled debut showcases her big, rich voice. Rockin' country, blues, and ballads just flow effortlessly. Guest vocalists on this relese include the aforementioned Garth Brooks and the great Vince Gill.

Saddle up your horses!,

The debut CD from Trisha Yearwood is hot from beginning to end. Not many country females can add a number one debut single to their list of achievements, but Trisha pulled it off with "She's In Love With The Boy," a song that spent two weeks at number one in mid-1991. Three more top ten singles followed that success. Garth Brooks is featured in the harmony vocal to "Like We Never Had A Broken Heart" and "Victim Of The Game," and Vince Gill can be heard doing harmony on "Lonesome Dove." Vocals and production are smooth, and song lyrics are included in the insert.
