For the newbie set, I recommend Tristan's initial video on the subject, Expert Guide. For those who want to take it to the next level, there is the newly released Expert Guide to Advanced.
First things first: This video is SO respectful.
AND educational. And very sexy. Tristan manages to include so much information into this video that you can easily get lost in an intense scene for three hours and come out learning something in the process.
I hope I watched it all - it went on and on, it's packed with scenes and info.
Watching this video reinforced my respect for the stars. They are such good, giving, game athletes. So refreshing to see people explore in a shame-free zone. So many people are so secretive, so it felt very open-hearted for these performers to keep the door open for us.
These are professionals who want you to try this at home.
There is more eye contact and kissing than you would expect. Watching them kiss is what is personally hottest for me.
The actors have real chemistry and connection, they smile, appear relaxed, I get the impression they are friends in real life.
Real, natural bodies YES
I also appreciate the classy bedroom sets for their scenes. Nothing distracts me more than an ugly setting. Instead of ugly hotel bedspreads, they employ rich, warm colors, sumptuous comforter covers, exposed brick, elaborate headboards - no laundry hamper or box of crackers to turn me off.
There is something for everyone in this visual smorgasbord. If you're into bare feet, there is a lot of that, no acrylic platform heels interfering. The coupling is beautiful, with handsome male stars matching the female beauty mandatory in these productions.
So, yeah, this video went above and beyond my expectations. I kept waiting to see a kitchen sink in the bed of the next scene. My only gripe is that it overwhelmed me. I sat and watched three hours, I powered through it, which left me exhausted. I've had my fill for the time being, thank you. I recommend doling the scenes out like a treat, as a reward to yourself.

One thing jumps out immediately in this educational DVD from Tristan Taormino: the people in it all look like they are ENJOYING themselves, a refreshing change from the usual conventions.
This DVD is decidedly not in the porn genre, despite having segments that, if seen as standalone clips, could easily be taken for porn. What we have here is a very nice piece of educational media. After a short introduction, the DVD opens with a good review of the basics, which includes anatomy, safety, preparation, lube and positions. Ms. Taormino stresses all of these things a number of times, noting in a number of places that all are vital parts of how we can enjoy this particular flavor of our sexuality. Next, there are four segments, each of which features a couple enjoying the process (yes, that's right, they are clearly enjoying what they do!). Each segment opens with a short conversation in which each of the players discusses what they enjoy and then they partake of what looks like a lot of fun!
There are a lot of "extras" here as well: safer sex and choking safety, strap-on tips and solo prostate stimulation are well worth watching. Each provides material that I'd consider essential to both full enjoyment as well as comfort and safety. My only criticism of this DVD is that these extras are, I think, such an essential part of learning to enjoy anal sex that it would have been nice had these been an integral part of the segments. Given the tricky line between educational and entertainment, however, it's not difficult to appreciate why things were set up this way. It is, perhaps, a reflection on the challenges of providing sex education as much as it is a matter of production choices.
I have been teaching prostate massage classes for several years, and was pleased to find pretty much all of the things I stress in my classes well explained and included in this video. For many people, anal play is a huge scary taboo, and this video is a wonderful resource to help the reluctant move past the usual fears. Safety, something I always open with, is also first on the list here. This is one resource I would highly recommend to those interested in more "in depth" exploration!

Once again, Tristan Taormino has knocked it out of the park. Expert's Guide to Advanced Anal Sex is a great combination of information and titillating action. As usual for her work, Taormino starts off with a lot of great information, covering the basics needed to make anal sex fun and safe, including enemas, lube and the different positions that can be used.
The 4 couples featured all have amazing chemistry and each of them gives really good advice from a variety of perspectives on the subject of anal sex. Amongst them, they cover a variety positions and techniques. I absolutely love the freedom Taormino gives her actors so that they can genuinely enjoy themselves and let us enjoy their screen time even more!
The special features give lots of information on things like safe sex and choosing a harness for strap-on sex. There is even info on solo prostate play for men who are curious about it. The information is non-stop on this DVD and makes it easily rewatchable because there's always more to get from it. The fact that the scenes are done as vignettes means that you can watch them at your own pace, which I love. It gives people the chance to watch what they want, when they want.
I can't really think of anything on this DVD that I'd want done differently. The actors are all gorgeous and fun to watch and the information is solid and accurate. Simply awesome from start to finish.
