Product Description

Product Description

The Tristar Optics Filter Bonus Pack - A bonus pack of our two most popular filters. The bonus pack includes, (1) Ultra Violet (UV) and (1) Circular Polarizer (C-PL) filter and a handy carry pouch.

This bonus pack it just about the same price as a C-PL filter by itself, so almost its getting the UV Filter for FREE!

58mm Ultra Violet (UV) Filter

  • Advantage: Absorbs UV rays without affecting exposure and protects lenses from scratches.
  • Benefit: Protects your camera or camcorder lens against dust, moisture, fingerprints, scratches and damage.
    * This filter can be kept on your camera at all times.
    * No UV rays give better contrast in an image
58mm C-PL Circular Polarizing Filter
  • Advantage: Polarizers provide color and contrast enhancement. Reflected light often shows up as whitish glare that washes out color in an image. A Polarizer corrects this problem producing deep, dramatically blue skies. It also removes glare from non-metallic surfaces, such as windows and water. Color saturation in general, especially outdoors, can be improved significantly. Removes reflections from non-metallic surfaces.
  • Benefit: Perfect for Bright Sunny days! Increases Color saturation and contrast!
Carrying Pouch
  • Advantage: Holds C-PL filter when not in use.
  • Benefit: Keeps C-PL protected and always handy for the right situation.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very poor choice - learned my lesson, October 12, 2009
Simply put, these filters are junk. I also experienced the problem of removing the fiter from the lens, but I finally did with the help of filter wrenches. However, the bigger problem was what they did to my images. The autofocus was thrown off and so pretty much all of my pictures taken while using these filters appear soft to completely out of focus. I thought it was a bad lens, but once I removed the filters, BAM, everything was super crisp. The only consolation was the kinda cool carrying pouch. Look towards a name brand.

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT BUY!, June 21, 2009

(REAL NAME)
Let me start off by saying that I am no professional photographer. I have been looking for a set of filters for my Canon A620 lense adapter.

I was short on time, so I stopped by Kitz Camera and picked up this kit.

Quickly I noticed the filter was nice and heavy. The ring is made of metal and the lense is heavy glass. It is very quality made. I tried on both the UV and Circular Polarlized Lense and they both fit snug with no play at all on my lense adapter. Both were easy to screw on and off, even with my plastic lense adapter.

I tested the polarlized filter out that evening on a dim cloudy sky both with the filter on, and filter off. And boy, it works! It actually made the picture deeper in color and contrast, as well as saturation. The clouds and sky had depth and color.

Overall, alittle pricey compared to other brands. But for the quality, I think it was worth it. And it comes with the very handy pouch. I plan to use these filters for a very very long time.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't buy this product, October 30, 2008
By Paul (Washington, DC USA) - See all my reviews
Ritz continues to sell this model despite a known problem. Namely, the filter cannot be removed from the lens. The Ritz customer rep told me this was a known issue. I don't know why they continue to sell it.
