67mm Ultra Violet (UV) Filter

• Advantage: Absorbs UV rays without affecting exposure and protects lenses from scratches.

67mm C-PL Circular Polarizing Filter

• Advantage: Polarizers provide color and contrast enhancement. Reflected light often shows up as whitish glare that washes out color in an image. A Polarizer corrects this problem producing deep, dramatically blue skies. It also removes glare from non-metallic surfaces, such as windows and water. Color saturation in general, especially outdoors, can be improved significantly. Removes reflections from non-metallic surfaces.

Simply put, these filters are junk. I also experienced the problem of getting the fiter off, but I did with the help of filter wrenches. however, the bigger problem was what they did to my images. The autofocus was thrown off and so pretty much all of my pictures taken while using these lenses appear soft to completely out of focus. I thought it was a bad lens, but once I removed the filters, BAM, everything was super crisp. The only consolation was the kinda cool carrying pouch. Look towards a name brand.

I bought this filter to protect my 18-135mm nikon lens for my nikon d80 SLR. I only use the UV filter and for the price you can't beat the quality. I keep it on my camera all the time and my lens cap fits on it securely.
