The Triton Wood Rack is well designed and reasonably priced. I purchased three of these wood racks, and the total cost was less than a competitor's lumber storage system. I purchased three wood racks so I could handle lumber longer than 8 feet. The one problem I ran into with this product was the packaging and shipping. The painted parts are packaged against each other, so almost every painted part arrived with scratches, scrapes and gouges. I believe this damage was caused by the shipping process. These wood racks are shipped in the manufacturer's original box. These boxes are not meant to be shipping containers. They are meant to be display boxes. All three boxes broke open during shipping, and one box lost the bag of mounting hardware. Amazon was quick to send a replacement wood rack. The replacement wood rack also broke open during shipping. The bag of mounting hardware was not lost, but three of the twelve shelf pieces were missing, and as with the three previously shipped wood racks, most of the painted parts were scratched, scraped or gouged. If these wood racks were shipped inside a corrugated cardboard box with air bags, none of the damage would have occurred. Everything else I have purchased from Amazon, has always been packaged in corrugated cardboard boxes with air bags. I don't understand why these Triton Wood Racks are sent with no protection.

I have to start out that I really like this product. I have been using it for a couple of months and for anyone that does even a little woodworking, this is a real time saver for getting both your scrap and stock wood organized and easy to sort through.

With that said, there is really no way that they can get this to you in one piece. Like most people, I read the reviews that said that his had bad packaging and ordered it anyway assuming that the problem had been corrected or that I would get lucky. No such luck!

The first shipment of this product had an actual piece of the product protruding out of the box. UPS had taped the parts in place outside of the box & it was a real work of art. When I opened the box, all of the hardware was missing and several other pieces were missing. Amazon replaced the product and the second try for this product was a little better. Between the two shipments, I hatched together enough pieces to put the thing together. Ok, I actually had to make a run to the hardware store to replace some missing screws.

Little did I know, my fun on this item had just begun. Even though the problem with packaging is clearly an issue, you will be responsible for finding a new box (the original one is useless) and returning the remnants of the broken shipment back for credit. Finding a box that is this big and getting it back to a shipping company is a chore. You should keep this in mind before buying this item here.

This rack is well worth the price, in that it is as advertised and more. This item is well built and very simple to assemble and easy to mount. I placed my rack on 2X4 studs (4ft centers) affixed to a wood ceiling beam in my basement workshop. Using 4 ft centers provide good support for 8 ft material. I plan on placing a second unit on the opposite side of the studs. It's amazing how much material this racks holds. Material racks are not that difficult to make from scratch, however to make one as good as this, you will end up spending more for your materials then the Triton costs.

I recently completed work on a 20'x20' wood shop and was in the market for a system to organize my lumber supply which was taking up valuable space on the floor. The Triton woodrack is a simple design that makes good sense. By mounting it on an unused masonry wall, I was able to not only free up valuable space, but organize my stock for easy storage and access. The racks are extremely simple to construct and mount. My only beef is that the mounting instructions are limited and mounting hardware is not included. I did not have shipping issues that others have spoken about. If you've got a woodshop, this is an inexpensive "must have."

I recently relocated to another city which meant I had to relocate my home (garage) wood shop. My new garage has 9+ foot side walls so I decided to take advantage of this height by storing lumber on these Triton racks high on the wall. I could not be more pleased with this product. Assembly was very easy, although I had to wait a day to install them as there were no lag bolts included for mounting. Properly installed, this lumber rack is VERY strong and stable. I highly recommend it!

Ordered 2 units from Amazon. When they arrived, 1 had torn open losing several pieces, so I ordered a replacement. It arrived torn open also. I contacted Amazon about the shipping problem, and in the end it was easier to contact Triton who supplied all missing parts free.
The rack is well built, and I spaced them out to hold lengths of material up to 12 feet. I looked long and hard to find a sturdy wood rack, and this one has exceeded all my expectations. Works good for lumber, siding, piping, etc.

This is a great product. I bought two, and find that the racks are top notch - the attention to detail is excellent - and they beat anything else I could find for the money.

Install is a snap, but make sure you have appropriate mounting hardware for your type of wall. They come with everything you need except for lag bolts, toggles, anchors, etc - whatever is appropriate for your wall. I used 1/4"x3" lags into wood studs or lag shields drilled into block.

The only problem with these racks is the shipping - Amazon really needs to put them inside a second box. Boxes for both of my racks came with some minor damage, and one plastic spacer was a bit funky but it still did the trick.

In summary: good luck with the packaging, but if everything arrives in one piece you can't do better.

Well built product that more than meets storage needs for long lengths of lumber. Husband is a stair builder and stores handrail in long lengths. Really organizes the workshop.

I purchased 2 sets of these back in December and they are by far the handiest things I have bought in a long time. I spaced mine out a little farther than they suggest and it was no issue. Ideally long stock you would want 3 of these in one location. I bought mine at Woodcraft for 39.95 free ship. Ceratinly cleans up a lot of corners and floor space.

Like a lot of the others here who have had this shipped directly to them only to find it damaged upon arrival, I too recieved damaged goods due to poor product packaging.
Amazon tried to make it right by sending me another one, but it too arrived damaged. The parts are not packaged securely. It may (or may not) arrive with all the parts, but it will arrive beat up. None of the parts are individually wrapped, so you can just imagine the scrapping and banging around this product will get while in shipping.
On a postive note, it is durable, easy to use, and built to last.
