I've searched for computer speakers for a few weeks. Most of them are two-pieces set, and require an external power source.

I knew about Tritton sound Bite because of another reviewer commenting a Logitech set in a site, and advising about Tritton instead of it.

After a carefully searching of technical aspects, I tried with them.

Just 3 steps: Open the box; plug ONLY ONE cable (the usb to the pc), wait for a few seconds to Plug&Play to find them, and READY!.

They don't need for a special driver, but it's included a mini-cd with drivers for a "virtual sound" (adding "space" to the sound) if you want to.

They are really nice; the sound is amazing for the size of the device (without special drivers). Tritton Sound Bite Speaker system is so truly portable!. If you are moving with a notebook and want to improve the sound of the notebook's speakers (if you could name them in that way!), definitly this is your choice.

PROs: one device - no external power - really portable (the speakers are protected when folded and thanks to the metal screen; usb cable is self-guarded) - Very good construction quality - Universal PNP

CONs: just a little longer usb cable is needed sometimes. It's not a factor.

I really recommend it.

The TRITTON Sound Bite is a nice little speaker on the go but it does has it flaws. For one, the USB cable supplied is way too short. Of course, you could add a USB extender to make it longer but this is just more money to spend to supplement this speaker. Second, there is absolutely no balance with the lows, mids and high. Its basically dominates with a lot of bass for this little unit with at times piercing treble frequencies depending on what type of music you listen to. There is hardly any mids in this unit whatsoever so that makes it frustrating at times for people out there who value a good balance of your lows, mids and highs. I'm still going to keep it and use it because it does add extra punch when I play music on my laptop and I love the mobility and the fact you can just plug it in and it works. Overall though, I'm not thoroughly impressed. Nice try though for what it is.

I read the reviews and decided to give this little speaker a try and I am glad I did. The sound was much better than expected. It slips right in the laptop bag for great portability. Worth the money. Get one.

I really have loved everything about my laptop except the sound. There just wasn't enough of it. I didn't want two external speakers -- although this would have given me great sound. I searched around for something that wouldn't totally compromise my laptop's portability and convenience, and I discovered this nifty little speaker system. It's small, and it just plugs into the side of the laptop. That's it!! There aren't any batteries, no installation CD, no complicated installation. All I had to do was restart my laptop after I plugged it in. When it started back up, the sound came out of the new speaker. There's only one so you don't get a stereo effect, but that was ok with me. I just wanted a louder crisper sound when I played music or a dvd. I bought the extra cable that is suggested, but you don't need it. There is an adequate cable attached to the speaker that works great! I think this is a good product for a small price.

I just bought this with my new Samsung NC10 netbook and am happy with my purchase. It provides a great improvement in sound quality over the integrated speakers of the netbook. I am listening to Pandora radio as I type this with my Tritton Sound Bite and am very happy with the sound quality of the music. Realize of course its limitations. It is not designed to compete with a Bose sound system! For its size and price though, it is very nice and in fact I do not notice any tinniness in its sound at moderate volume levels. I do not attempt to play it at full blast however, of course.

This little speaker array is a huge improvement over the pathetic sound I got from my Toshiba laptop.

It's not audiophile quality sound but considering it's size, it has great presence and volume.

Highly recommended.

I bought the TRITTON Sound Bite, Portable USB Digital Speaker System because a friend had shared one with me and I thought it would be perfect. In fact is is NEAR perfect in sound and portability. Only deficit is the too short cord that requires you to keep the speakers very close to you PC.

Otherwise, a great buy!

These are perfect speakers for a laptop, amazing sound and power. Works on Mac, Windoz and Linux too!! Just plug it in and wait for the machine to detect and they are good to use. The bass is not that heavy but good for the size.

Ideal for connecting to the laptop and watching movies on the bed, or in the car, good for presentations also.

Good to have: volume control on it :) But what the heck, still give it 5 stars for the sound. (Does not crack at high volumes)

An excellent speaker for the money. It has fairly rich sound from its small woofer and tweeters and it easily offers vastly louder audio than my on board audio for the Mac Mini computer. Granted, the loudness will not blow you out of the room like larger speakers but if you need a solid, basic speaker with decent loudness and some fidelity then this will do the job.

Installation was a breeze and I had it up and running within three minutes after unpacking it. Mac OSX immediately recognized it after I changed the Speaker setup in Preferences.

This small speaker fits easily into a suitcase and sounds great for the size - good high, mid and [surprisingly strong]low range. It connects via a usb cord that winds into the bottom of the speaker when not in use (no batteries needed!!!). I have tried other solutions (rechargeable bluetooth speakers, battery-powered systems that connect via a mini-headphone jack) and this is far and away the best option I've seen. It does exactly what it is supposed to do very well. If you are looking for a way to play music from your netbook or laptop when you travel this is a perfect solution. I have had mine for five years and it still looks and sounds like new.
