See2 Extreme Dont Buy,
By PeteHels "Pete" (Prescott Arizona) - See all my reviews

Tritton SEE2 Xtreme, USB to DVI or VGA External Video Card, 1920x1200 resolution
I purchased this device to "easily" connect another monitor to my PC. The second monitor had a VGA plug, but as the SEE2 Extreme came with an adapter plug I thought that there would be no problems??? I installed the software - a long process, which took several tries as it was not recognised, then the second monitor was not recognised. I uninstalled and re-installed a few times and still had problems. I went to the Tritton website to find some help. This site wasnt the easiest to navigate, and no good advice to solve my issues. I did contact Tritton through the site but NO response. Eventually I tried a download driver for another more basic model, the See2 USB SVGA adapter and with this I had better luck - at least it recognised the 2nd monitor. This was after a couple of installs and plugging the device in and out a few times. I now have the second monitor working, BUT whenever the PC goes into "sleep" mode, or after a reboot, I have to reset the display settings again so that the second monitor is at the same resolution as the main monitor. Eventually got the monitor to work without altering displays, but later on it caused more problems with the entire display blacking out. For a "device" that is almost $90 I would have expected it to work straight out of the box without all the installation difficulties that I had. To make matters worse no response from Tritton. The company needs to revise the software issues. I would not recommend this product until it is easier to install. I am still waiting for a response from Tritton - not a good advertisement for their products. After many more problems, wasted time in trying to uninstall, reinstall, trying to contact tech support- again with no response, and not getting the device to work I have finally given up. I am purchasing another device. This is a waste of time and money

Watch Out: possible paid/false reviews,
By a computer geek (CA, United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Tritton SEE2 Xtreme, USB to DVI or VGA External Video Card, 1920x1200 resolution (Personal Computers)
When I read the reviews, I found most reviews are giving low score, but only two reviews give 5 stars, and these two reviews were written in two consecutive days. To further examine the reviews, I checked all other reviews written by the two reviewer. What I found? They only wrote reviews for Tritton products before.
William wrote 3 reviews only for Tritton, all are 5 star. Jen wrote 2 reviews only for Tritton, both are 5 star. Do you think this is just coincidence, or something very suspicious? Are they employee or friends of Tritton? Be aware!

Mac users DO NOT BUY,

This review is from: Tritton SEE2 Xtreme, USB to DVI or VGA External Video Card, 1920x1200 resolution (Personal Computers)
I've had this product for a few months running it on a fist gen Intel 17" mac book pro, and then a new 13" mac book pro. The drivers for this are VERY dodgy and will freeze the monitor very frequently (as an aside, if spaces are enabled switch to a different one and back and it did unfreeze), I found their tech support to be VERY poor and most important, no snow leopard support. I have been consistently disappointed with this product and will replace it.

Works great for text...,

If you need an extra monitor to use for programming, or other text-based activities, this does great. Don't plan on using it for games, or other animation heavy programs. Otherwise, the picture looks great, the resolution is perfect, and it's nice to have a third monitor. Works well with my MacBook.

Dont buy,

This review is from: Tritton SEE2 Xtreme, USB to DVI or VGA External Video Card, 1920x1200 resolution (Personal Computers)
I bought this with the intend of running several screens at my home work station and was very excited when I received it. But after having trouble with the screen freezing or simply not registering and re-installing many times (each time requiring 2 x restarts of your machine) it became clear this products was a waste of time and money. I tried downloading updated drivers from the Tritton site which also didn't help.
After a full day of trying to find solutions I only found many other reviews stating the same as I am now. The product doesn't work well with Vista, Tritton support is non existing and considering the overall investment in setting up additional screens its not worth your time or money to buy this. I'm still looking for a suitable replacement but would recommend reading up on as many reviews as you can before buying this. There seems to be good reviews posted, but rather be sure. This is a NO from me.

Made my life miserable,
By HkIntosh (Quito, Ecuador) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Tritton SEE2 Xtreme, USB to DVI or VGA External Video Card, 1920x1200 resolution (Personal Computers)
I'm using a 20" with 1680x900, OSX Snow Leopard, well within specs. Any resolution above that is stretched ugly.
Drivers from the CD do not work for Leopard nor Snow Leopard. Downloaded 3.2 drivers from the website and installed. I bought it exclusively for Word documents so from the reviews I thought it would be OK. When I move a Word document to the monitor with the See2Extreme it does one of the following: 1. Crashes 2. Resizes the resolution to a smaller size 3. Flickers When it doesn't crash the system and I manually set up the resolution parameters again, the mouse disappears when inside the Word application and reappears when clicking outside Word. The quality of the text in the Word document is legible, although it looks like a "badly scanned image" where some letters look thicker than others and are not crisp. I cannot recommend anything else but to return it if you have a Mac. If you have two Macs, download Teleport. It's much more stable, free, and beautifully handles the resolutions. That's what I was doing before making the mistake of wasting money on this catastrophe. I thought by version 3.2 of the drivers they'd get it going by now...

junk doesn't work,

freezes up my system, after installing all the updates and latest driver. This thing just doesn't work. If it freezes your system remember to just unplug the USB. What a monumental waste of time. And dig the obviously fake reviews fromteh Tritton employees marketing dept "Jen" and "William" who reviewed only 3 tritton products on amazon and nothing else.
Obvious fake reviews. This thing just doesn't work. Ive tried everything adn it was a terrible waste of my time.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS,

Avoid this item at all costs.
I purchased this in an attempt to add a third monitor to my home setup. Installation was fairly easy, aside from the fact that it took four full installations to actually get a picture...I've dealt with more difficult installations however. My main intention for this monitor was to have Dreamweavers Code and Tag Inspector running on it along with perhaps Itunes. The simple fact was that this was impossible. It worked well for about five minutes at a time, than the screen would flicker and freeze up. I couldn't get a picture back up on it without a reboot. I gave the device the benefit of the doubt, and decided to try installing and running it on a more powerful PC I had in the house. Same exact difficulty installing it, and couldn't even view a movie on the additional screen without the picture freezing. I went back to my point of purchase today to attempt a return, but it turns out I misplaced the DVI-VGA adapter, and now I'm stuck with this useless piece of plastic. Oh, another note: Good luck un-installing the software and drivers as well. I purchased the better quality EVGA model(which actually works as advertised), and cant install the drivers because of conflicts caused by the Tritton drivers, which wont uninstall.

Dead on arrival,
By Andrew M.A (Broomfield, CO United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Tritton SEE2 Xtreme, USB to DVI or VGA External Video Card, 1920x1200 resolution (Personal Computers)
This is just to reiterate earlier comments that installing this device on Windows XP is a toss up. I tried about 8 different times including using the latest driver from their website as well as their troubleshooting tips but to no avail. I work in IT, so I know making a USB device that is hard to install does not bode well. Also, based on the company website, I don't know if they are a viable company. Broken links, portions still under construction, etc. I should have checked that out their website before purchasing.

Lack of customer service, does not work with Vista,
By
This review is from: Tritton SEE2 Xtreme, USB to DVI or VGA External Video Card, 1920x1200 resolution (Personal Computers)
I attempted to use this product as a third monitor on my Lenovo T61 laptop with the laptop display as the primary monitor, and the VGA out from the laptop as the 2nd monitor. Not only did this product not work AT ALL, my attempts for over a week to contact someone at customer service have been ignored and as of the time of this review have still not heard from Tritton. Their website FAQs tell you to re-install the software if it does not work. Even running the program as "Administrator" did not solve the issue, nor did downloading current and previous drivers from the site. Bottom line: bad experience with Tritton's customer service, would not recommend this product, and purchased an EVGA UV Plus+ UV-12 product that worked out of the box with no issues whatsoever... and it was more than half of what I paid for the Tritton SEE2 Xtreme. Usually, you get what you pay for, but definitely NOT in this case.
