A real Triumph indeed,
By matthew reinholds (auckland New Zealand) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Triumph (Audio CD)
They creep up on you do the Hiss, they're like the dirty exiled uncle of Oasis' definitely maybe, they're also what Noel and Liam may have become if they'd followed the lead created from their debut rather than it's much celebrated follow up. That's the wonderful ambiguity of pop music and pop success. Sometimes by embracing the masses a bands essence can be submerged never to reappear.Triumph glows with a snarling growl and a lingering howl, while the booming sound of over-worked guitars gives it that shot of adrenalin all great rock 'n' roll needs. 'Street Research' takes it's cue from late 60s rock combined with latter day street smart cred, while closing track 'Back on the radio' has you reaching immediately again for the play button. A brave and audacious debut with an album due for release soon. This could be the start of another chapter.
