I bought this book after finding out that my best friend has hepatitis c. I like the fact that the book is straightforward, Lloyd talks about his ridiculous experiences in dealing with doctors who don't know enough about the disease and certainly don't know how to treat it. He has great, solid ideas on how to improve your health and become hepatitis c- free. It's a tried and true method, it worked for him and he is now free of the disease. The ONE thing I didn't particularly care for and was at times quite shocked about was the language he used and the sexual undertones. I write this so those of you who purchase this won't be too shocked as I was, as well as my friend! Don't let it deter you, let it make you laugh. This is a must read for anyone suffering from this debilitating disease and for anyone who needs info in order to help a loved one.

CATCH 22 RIDES AGAIN!

Normally books on Alternative Medicine are boringly written, although they profess to tell you something that is good for you and your body. This book, however, after the obligatory forewords, begins like a Hunter S. Thompson ('Fear & Loathing In Las Vegas') tract of frightening dimensions and slowly, slowly levels out into a Dr. Feelgood text that anyone who has ever experienced the pain & suffering of Hepatitis 'C' sufferers at close range (if not one themselves), can benefit from.

Wright relates how a severe accident & the blood transfusions thereafter resulted in him contracting the deadly Hepatitis 'C' - His list of the illnesses & maladies to follow, kicking in like falling dominoes, reads like a 'Who's Who' of Nightmare. His accident (read the book for details), which occurred in Malibu in 1979, was the beginning of a trip into the Black Hole of incompetent doctors and well-meaning nurses who didn't know themselves what they were looking for that would make him well again. Tested for Hepatitis 'C' in July 1991 (the conclusive tests to determine the existence of Hepatitis 'C' in a person's body were only achieved in September of 1991!), his results were negative. Still trying to rid himself of a baffling sickness, in 1994 he made regular weekly visits to a blood bank where his blood was sucked out and supposedly discarded as toxic waste. Murphy's Law kicked in, and this discarded blood mistakenly appeared one day on a shelf with donation blood and was randomly tested. The blood bank sent him a form letter two months(!) later, saying they could no longer accept his blood for donations (!) because he had Hepatitis 'C!'

Lloyd Wright has changed his food consumption and lifestyle considerably since 1994. The result has been his saving himself from almost-certain death. In his book he lists the elements (Milk Thistle, Live Cell Therapy, Cats Claws, Dandelion Root, Aloe Vera, Licorice Root, Alpha Lipoic Acid, Reishi Mushrooms, etc.) which saved his life, and warns against items which could take (Hospitals - The 8th leading cause of Death in America!) your life.
Pushing the pocket bigger, Lloyd Wright has been invited to speak at the Annual Cancer Conference to present his views on Alternative Medicine, his results and present several of his 'clients', who will also be in attendance. Wright's findings are sure to open up some previously closed eyes, ears and minds.

I was recently diagnosed with Hepatitis C and had been feeling afraid & overwhelmed. My wife found Lloyd Wright's book which I read cover to cover without setting it down. I immediately felt so much better! The book is a little rough, but very funny, engaging, and full of specific, understandable, useful information. All of the alternative treatments are clearly explained and are well supported by historical reference and descriptions of how they work in the human body. His explanations of what to stay away from and why are equally detailed and enlightening. Try to get the run of the mill doctor in this country to explain ANYTHING as clearly as Mr. Wright has. I feel hopeful and almost "normal" again. Thank You

The reviews by Dave (joke-scam) and Conan (don't be scammed) prompted me to add my own comments. I for one have found Lloyd Wright's information to be extremely helpful as was the man himself.

My husband was diagnosed in 1995, unfortunately his mother (a former emergency room RN) also had it and so did both of his brothers as it turned out - though the brothers were diagnosed after him. One brother completed interferon combo therapy, had supposedly cleared the virus, but died of heart problems within the year (he was only 49 - I believe this was a result of the treatment). The other brother tried interferon combo therapy, but had to discontinue it due to SEVERE side effects. There are many people who have Hep C who are not even candidates for Interferon as they have preexisting health or mental health issues (such as depression, anxiety and panic attacks) that preclude them from getting the treatment or should if the docs would read the warnings from the drug companies. From what I have seen the interferon therapy should be a LAST resort.

Speaking to the comment about the expense of the Alternative treatments, many things you can do are relatively inexpensive and can have tremendous benefits for your quality of life. Lloyd does give advice on just a basic program that is inexpensive and you do not have to buy from him. Keep in mind one thing though, as someone who had researched many alternative remedies before stumbling onto Lloyd's site, vitamins, minerals and herbs' effectiveness depends very much on how they are processed and prepared and it is very difficult to verify you have found reliable, effective products. There is a lot of crap out there. I was lucky to have a friend who is an ND who was able to steer me to quality products. Between my research and my friend I was already using most of the vitamins/herbs recommended by Lloyd, but his prices were cheaper for these quality products than I could get them elsewhere. I very much understand the concern about Lloyd's direct involvement with some of the products he sells, that can be a conflict of interest. However, I have come to understand that his involvement has been to get products to us at better prices or to make available a product that we would not otherwise be so. He understands better than most what the aches and pains are, he has learned much and has put that knowledge to use to get us products that truly help. If you continue explore alternatives, you will find this scenario is not that unusual as there are many that have taken things into their own hands and produce their own formulas because they could not find either the quality or correct formula in the current marketplace. Also regarding expense, neither writer addresses the fact that the year long interferon combo treatment costs at least $25,000.00 (no that's not a typo), so if you do not have insurance you're pretty SOL. They did not complain that interferon treatment takes a year for 1a, why is that OK? The herbs cost much less than that, even if you do use the Natcell Thymus. My husband has used the Natcell Thymus with wonderful results. He was tested just before starting it and his viral count was over 2,000,000 and at the time we discontinued it, about 4 months later, that test showed his count at 330,000. I think we could have done better, but unfortunately he'd developed some other medical problems that required our immediate attention and money so we had to stop. Also he had to start using some pain medications just before the second test so we were likely even closer than these numbers indicate (many anitbiotic, psychiatric and pain medications can lead to major increases in viral count). One last thing, Lloyd has been collecting test results from his clients (voluntary of course)to track their progress and to serve as evidence that alternatives can and do work.

Hepatitis c is the main reason for a liver transplant...thats what i was told when i was diagnosed in july 2000, i was sent home with a box of needles, tylenol and another appointment for a liver biopsy. I sat in my car unable to digest the horrible news about my liver, i cried for 30 minutes i have never been so afraid, ever! I decided not to do anything until i knew all of the treatments available, after diligent searching, i found a book that i know saved my life, "Triumph over Hepatitis C", Lloyd Wright lit the path for the rest of us, his simple approach to getting well was very enlightening to me, i feel as though everyone has a purpose in life, Lloyd Wright knows excatly what we "heppers" are going threw, and what we need to survive, it was so obvious to me the minute i started reading the book, they way Lloyd Wright conveyed the message to the readers, we knew it was for real, he is the most informed human being on the planet when it comes to hepatitis c, i know because my hepatitis c is almost in remission! I am so thankful for this book, Lloyd, and especially God, for leading me to this book, it has changed my life! it gave me hope, my one wish is to someday meet Mr. Wright just to give him a hug for saving my life, i have purchased several of the books and passed them on to others, it is such a light hearted book to read once i started reading i could not put it down, and still have not, i constantly refer back to it, it picks me up! continuely... The author of this book takes the reader on a path threw his life dealing with this horrific virus, what he did for the virus, blood tests, personal dilemas and then, he so openly shares what would take years for most of us to find out concerning the cleaning and rejuvinating of the liver, i am pleased to say that i will not be needing a liver transplant, it is a gift for anyone that is fortunate enough to have this book placed in the palm of their hands, i mean that with all my heart, and that is what Lloyd Wright did when he wrote this book, he had to it was his mission in life, to follow his heart! While Lloyd Wright's book is obviously written by a male (because he is one) and includes some "side trips," Triumph Over Hepatitis C is an accessible story. And Lloyd's triumph over Hepatitis C is something that I want to identify with.
After the first nine weeks on his program, my ALT dropped from 49 to 9. My viral load, which had been running consistently at approximately 1,500,000, dropped over half.
I'll take the road trips with Lloyd. I'll take the male perspective. And I'll happily and gratefully take my new hep c scores along with it.
Plus -- the only side effect I've encountered from using the holistic treatment Lloyd used -- a combination of glandular and immune system booster along with liver regenerators -- was an awesome amount of energy and vitality from the first week on.

It is not often that one is fortunate enough to be helped and guided by someone whose intentions are truly altruistic and from the heart. I feel blessed to have stumbled upon Lloyd Wright's book and now have even more confidence in its healing suggestions after having met the author myself.

Having 'procured' the Hepatitis C virus from a blood transfusion at age 13, I only discovered that I was carrying this deadly killer in my blood, about a year ago at age 32. Not yet sick enough to be tempted to even try the frightening Interferon, I felt frozen and powerless in what I could possibly do. I had avoided alcohol since diagnosed, yet my liver level enzymes were still increasing way beyond normal. By chance, someone handed me Lloyd Wright's book and feeling I should become a bit more familiar with what I now have, I casually began to read his words and soon found myself unable to put it down. In fact, after finishing the book, I immediately phoned Mr.Wright (even though it was 2:30 am!) because I felt certain that from what I had just read, he could very well be my ticket to health through a self-empowering, natural, positive healing regimen. Reading this book has given me a whole new outlook on life and a new life. In Dec. 2000 I was diagnosed with Hep C. I was fatiqued, depressed, confused, and losing my hair. I went for a check up and sent to a liver specialist. My Liver Specialist? said the only successful treatment was Interferon. My Hep C viral load by PCR has dropped 400,000 points, my GGT has dropped 60 points, my ALT has dropped 11 points, and my iron serum level has dropped 78 points. This in less than one month of only taking some of these supplements that help your body produce its own natural interferon. I highly recommend, first, if you have not been tested for Hep C to get tested, it is a rapid growing epidemic, and second research this disease and read this book. Our so called liver specialist know little about this silent killer. As I said, it has changed my life. I am no longer tired all the time, I am sleeping through the night, my thought processess are clearer, and I'm no longer losing my hair. I am looking forward to my next blood test. I've seen my dear friend go from standing on death's door, to being a vital and healthy man again, and he did it by following what he has since written in his book, "Triumph Over Hepatitis C." Having been in the rock and roll business in the crazy 70's, I witnessed a lot of abusive behavior by people I admired. Some of those people are no longer with us, but any of them like Eric Clapton, (who's band I was in for 4 years), turned their lives around and totally cleaned up their acts. Without the help that's available to people who need it and ask for it, I doubt many of us would have succeeded. For alcoholics and drug addicts there's AA and NA, and various other support groups. For people with Hepatitis C, there's good proven advice in Lloyd Wright's book "Triumph over Hepatitis C." If you know anyone who's suffering from this devastating health problem, before you even go near interferon,try everything else you can to help- including getting this book for them. I reviewed Mr. Wright's book Triumph Over Hepatitis C Prior to publication and conferred with him on the published edition. I have read the entire volume. Mr. Wright was a patient of mine beginning in 1996 and I worked with him in developing the remedy he describes in Triumph Over Hepatitis C. Mr. Wright describes in his book his condition prior to being diagnosed and presents a copy of his liver biopsy showing chronic hepatitis c as well as signeficant liver damage from cancer, radiation and chemothearpy. In accordance with his biopsy results his liver enzymes readings were AST panel at 210 (1-41 normal) and ALT panel at 245 (0-45normal). He was bedridden, and he could not tolerate interferon treatment which he describes in a brutly honest and gut busting fashion. Through the coarse of the book he describes the good nutrional program along with a concentrated effort to take everything in the remedy he describes in his book, he started to feel much better right away, and a year later he was healthy and virus free---they couldn't find the virus in him. He has been hepatitis c free for almost 3 years and has liver enzyme readings of AST panel at 23 and ALT panel at 12 which he displays copys of. Mr. Wright's account of the events he encountered from contraction of hepatitis c to his complete recovery and the remedy that saved his life is a must read for anyone with Hepatitis C, cancer,HIV and aids. This is a true patient to patient testimonial which can save new patients a lot of dissappointment, trouble and money. It is a good story that gives real hope for the patient with dire diagnoises. It would not surprise me if this book is made into a movie in record time.
