4.0 out of 5 stars Great Selection, Not Enough Harpsichord Tracks, March 5, 2004

This review is from: The Triumph of the Piano (Audio CD)
I know, I know it's triumph of the piano, but I would have preferred a couple more harpsichord pieces to add a little more perspective (this CD has only two). For example, the insert states that the first edition of the Moonlight sonata bore the inscription "for the harpsichord or piano-forte"; it would have been fun to hear it on the harpsichord. Overall, it's a very nice CD with a great track selection and good sound quality.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Variety of Classical Music, January 8, 2004
This review is from: The Triumph of the Piano (Audio CD)
If you like the piano, you will absolutely love this cd. I feel in love with it the first time I heard it. All the classics are contained with additional songs from composers I've never heard of -Igor Stravinsky and Francois Couperin - who wrote my new favorite song. Other than those two, Bach, Scarlatti, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, List, Schumann, Mendelssohn, Chopin, Brahms, Rachmaninov, Debussy, Bartok and Scott Joplin give you their best compositions. This cd is truly amazing - what a variety! I own several copies - it's a wonderful investment. Even if you only somewhat like classical music, I can guarantee you will not be disappointed with this. Enjoy the music :)
