This review is from: Triumph Spitfire 1500: Repair Operation Manual (Paperback)
This book is a reprint of the factory service manual for the later model Spitfire with the 1.5 litre engine. It is far superior to the Haynes manual covering the same vehicle. I was actually looking for a treatise on competition and tuning for these engines. There are many examples of this for MGB and I was hoping for that. However, this manual answered a lot of questions about the emission control system(s) and that was helpful.
If you are an experienced mechanic, this book will provide you with the means to get the job done. I especially liked the designation of the correct fasteners and location. The 1500 engine has a lot of variation in the bolts and screws and it is often difficult to locate the correct combination, especially when someone has previously mismatched items. If you are looking for "how to improved performance" this book is not your cup of tea. If you are looking for originalality and factory recommended procedures, this book is fine.

You want to work on your Spitfire without this book?,

This review is from: Triumph Spitfire 1500: Repair Operation Manual (Paperback)
This is an indispensable tool for working on your car. A factory workshop manual for doing any job on your British Beast. I mean any job, as written by the factory, by the people who designed and built the car, not a reverse-engineered "Manual" that leaves you scratching your head. I have owned a many British motors and my current one is a 100% original Spitfire with 167.000 miles on the clock.
A word of warning, don't get this book wet, the pages stick together like mad!
