Very nice sound, but note that these hymns are incomplete -- many just one verse long. Some come in abruptly with no intro -- others cut out abruptly. I suppose this is some sort of a sampler.

This is an outstanding collection of classic hymn music! It is our family's favorite album. The selections are drawn from the best of historic church music; and the arrangements are ideal for each song's style and heritage. The only drawback is that several are only one verse long instead of the several that deserve to be heard; and the sound level for the first several songs is weak compared to the rest of the selections.

The most difficult aspect of finding a good choral CD is the mix. Hymns Triumphant is fantastic.

If I was stuck on an deserted island with only one CD to choose from, this would be it. When I was going through chemotherapy for Hodgkin's Lymphoma, this collection (a cassette at the time) kept my spirits up and aided in my healing. Listen to these excerpts and taste and see how truly good this glorious music is.
