Well engineered, well executed,

Miss Angie isn't a powerful force in the Christian Music scene, but her album harnesses tons of energy and power, to make it one of the more interesting Pop albums to come out last year.Songs are layered with synthesizers, heavy bass and beats, topped by Miss Angie's little-girlish vocal tracks. The lyrics are simple, but very Christian without being preachy. The engineering of the songs is excellent -- very well put together, very satisfying. Frankly, it's nice to see such a well-done electronic album released to the Christian market. Bjork she's not, but Miss Angie is a great asset to Christian music.

If you are a miss angie buff then you've probably heard here say that she's a mix of sandi Patti and Metallica. I think this is and great description of her. If you liked the last album you'll love this one. If you've never heard her bfore then take chance, I think you'll love it!!

I find it somewhat entertaining when my friends see the title "Triumphantine", they immedietly have to say it in an angelic, la-la type of tone, and when they see the title "100 Million Eyeballs", they immedietly have to say it in a grossed out, surprised type of tone. I said in a review of Miss Angie's debut, "100 Million Eyeballs"..."First of all, I will have to tell you this: don't judge people before you get to know them. Why do I say that? Because almost every person that stumbles across this album will think "What the heck is this? Miss Angie is bazzare." I know this sounds strange, but if you're in that situation, I highly recomend that you check this album out."
...So, you understand that, what I said about 100ME. If you hear the word "Triumphantine" and think it sounds like it would be a regular sounding album you'd be used to, think again. It's the other way around. 100ME has more of a alt/rock/pop sound, while "Triumphantine", well, has a genre that is a bit hard to explain. It's a wild mixture of haunting guitars, loud buzzing basses, techno-esque drum beats, sound loops that resemble toy instruments, and sweet vocals. Well, I have to say that "Triumphantine" is not for everyone. If you're interested in it, I highly suggest that you listen to the audio samples through a few times, so you will know wheather you truely like it or not. The first time I listened to the samples, I thought "Triumphantine" had the weirdest music I had ever heard in my life, but somehow I thought after a while, "ok, I'll just try it once again, and see what I think this time". To my surprise, it didn't seem so bad the second time around, and the more I listened to it, the more I got used to it.

It's Alright,
This review is from: Triumphantine (MP3 Download)
I really don't know why Angie decided to make her sophomore release completely different than her debut album that was so unique. This album has no searing guitars and rock beats that made 100 Million Eyeballs stand out. It's very electronic and and her voice seems very "echoey" in every track. I like some of the songs, but when I'm in the mood for miss angie, I always find myself going to 100 Million Eyeballs and not Triumphantine. I do LOVE 'Dancin' In My Head' and think it's the best track on the album.

New Sound, Excellent CD,

Miss Angie is back and better than ever. Triumphantine has a brand new sound but is still full of strong, Christian lyrics. It's rock music with some techno beats. If you liked her first album, "100 Million Eyeballs" or just want to sit back and listen to some good, pure music, pick up Triumphantine by Miss Angie at your nearest Christian bookstore.

Although this album was more techno than 100 Million Eyeballs, the lyrical content and value doesn't change as Miss Angie delivers yet another stellar performance. Two thumbs up.

Quite a change from her first, but still good. The music has almost a computer music sound to it and at times sounds even like Nintendo music. The lyrics remain as always challenging in the faith. Half-singing & half-talking creates this unique style the she has. A different sound to add to your collection.

Miss Angie has done it again although quite different than her first album Triumphantine blends sounds from the 70's,80's, and 90's into a unique blend that puzzles the mind. The lyrics are as pure as gold in the sense that they are heartfelt and spoken. Triumphantine is well worth your monet.

Not as good as 100 Million Eyeballs, but still awesome!,
A Kid's Review

This album came right after Miss Angie's debut, 100 Million Eyeballs. It was pretty awesome! It was very different, though. When I first listened to it, it came off as kind of "creepy" to me, and I was thinking "100 Million Eyeballs has a more happy sound", which sounds very funny. I don't really think it's creepy anymore, it's just one of those albums I had to learn to like. Let me review my favorite songs from it:
Let's Get Together: Coolness! I'm not sure what it's about, but it's really cool! It's got an interesting sound. I like it a lot! Dancing In My Head: Ok, this one comes off as a little, well, strange. But, I (very, very slowly) learned to like it. I don't really get it, but it's kind of cool! It's different and unique, like all Miss Angie stuff. I Love Light: One of my favorites! It sounds kind of weird, in some places, but it's my style! It's really fun (for me) to sing. I like it! ZZZZ: Weird title, I know, but one of the best songs on the album! It's got a great sound! Doom: Ok, again, I'll have to say, "don't let the title fool you", but it's about something completely opposite of "doom". It's a slower song on the album, but it's really pretty! I like the drums in it. I, sometimes, sing it when I'm scared. This album was very different, but very cool! Like I said, not as good as 100 Million Eyeballs, but still awesome. This turned out to be Miss Angie's last album, and after 1999, she kind of disappeared from the scene. There is absolutely NO info on what she's been up to the past 4 years. Not to be mean, but I just HATE it when artists do that. Aurora did the same thing. But I just have my little dream that someday, they'll make a huge comeback.
