It's like the first: a DVD game that makes great use of the DVD. What makes this a lot better is that the DVD is set up with pre-set gameplay sections. This means no repeats on the DVD (And for people like me, no one complaining saying "I've had this one before!"). The questions are mixed with more recent and some less recent (Some include 70s and 80s). Some questions are off (In the movies section, I got a question about what teams Kareem-Abdul Jabaar had previously played for), but most are accurate. I've played this with three generations (70s, 80s, 90s and today) and we all had a lot of fun. I highly recommend it, even to people who don't like Trivial Pursuit.

My family has always played Trivial Pursuit, but only ends up knowing a small percentage of the answers. This game has a lot more answerable questions, rather than those that you need an encylopedia to answer.

The game is very fun and everyone in the family loves it it is always the first to be played on family game night and the DVD portion makes the game the game that much more fun it is truly one of the best purchases I have made from Amazon

I don't know if it is worth the full price. If you can get it on sale, then it's great. They should sell new edition kits, with new cards and dvd's instead of having to buy a whole new game.

We've played this game several times since receiving it... it's fun. One downside is the continuation of the trend of having "Prepackaged" games on the DVD... rather than pulling from all questions at random, meaning that every game will still be different but you may see one you've gotten before, there's 16 preset games with a smaller set of questions for each... nice if you only plan to play the game 16 times, not so much if you want to play it a lot.

The makers were totally lazy when makinf this game. What is the point of having DVD if only a few questions are multimedia and the rest are just text? You might as well just read the questions off a card like the original game.

I noticed this during a real game, so later on I just played the DVD questions myself and here is what I found. There are only 3 multimedia (Videos, music, animation, etc) questions for each category. After that there are only text questions, just like on the cards. After about 10 questions in each category it gets even lamer. Rather than even asking a text question, a simple text message comes up and says "Read a question from a card in the stack".

I gave an overall rating of 1 star. I've been told the "Scene-It" series is much better, so i'm going to get one of those next time.

I bought this game for my father for an early Christmas present. We sat down to play it, a group of 6 people ranging in age from 83 to 32. I figured with that kind of spread, there would be questions that everyone might get. We were all frustrated and disappointed not even halfway through the game. Some of the questions are ridiculously trivial - yes, I know that's the name of the game, but we had to make so many wild guesses (all of which were wrong) that the game got to be really too frustrating. The wedge holders are nifty,and the way the wedges just slide into place is cool. The DVD questions were more exciting than the card questions, but we weren't able to answer more than half of those, although at least in that case you are given some kind of picture clue which allows you to have fun while you're guessing.
Overall a big disappointment - we got rid of the game the next day! I think this might be fun for a younger crowd - 20somethings and younger, perhaps.

Hubby and I got this under our Christmas tree and played a game last night. I'm a bit older than he is (I'm 38, he's 31) and I found the questions easier than he did (although he customarily beats me when playing Genus edition).

It was a fun time! We were singing along to the songs and pointing out OTHER trivial facts about the DVD clips.

A couple of complaints though: first, a couple of the questions got 'stuck' on the DVD and continually repeated. We had to go back to the main-main menu to get it to reset. Could be our player, though...

...second, the DVD questions were set up oddly. According to the rules, once the player has had some time to guess, then it's ANYONE'S guess who doesn't have that wedge of the pie. On a few of the 'scrambled pictures' questions (which only really clarified when the "all play" mode began), it was just too simple. SOMEONE is going to win a wedge of pie. You can't lose when the screen says "DEF JAM RECORDS" and the answer is-well, DEF JAM RECORDS. That's just a gimme...

...third, the color scheme. Is it blue, or purple? On the DVD it's purple, on the board it's pink (or red, per my color blind husband, LOL.) So, is blue blue then? Not, of course, to be confused with the distinction between yellow and orange.

OTHER THAN THAT...it was Trivial Pursuit...just like you've always known it. Some questions are really super-obvious, some are so obscure as to be impossible...and of course, those are the ones that come up on YOUR turn. Right? Yeah. Well, I won but he had five wedges. I'll play as long as I get to be the adorable garden gnome!
