Even though the description typed on the websites are way off base, it's called read the actual box on the game to find out that it is 600 questions on 2 DVDs, the game is wonderful. Even my wife, who HATES Lord of the Rings, enjoyed playing this. Being able to use both the cards and DVDs is a wonderful feature, you can literally play dozens of times without getting the same questions twice. If you like the movies, if you think you know them like I do, you will love this game. Two very enthusiastic thumbs up!!!

So you think you know everything about the Lord of the Rings movies? You may be right, but Lord of the Rings: Trivial Pursuit is a fun way to confirm it. The questions asked range from easy to hard- so you definitely get your LOTR knowledge tested. In the game, there are six categories to choose from:
1. Good Characters (Green): Who plunks himself down in Denethor's throne for a smoke after its owner's demise? (Example question from one the game cards) 2. Evil Characters (Blue): What substance on the leaves of the trees in Fangorn does Gimli taste, then spit out in disgust? 3. Places and History (Orange): How many months, to the day, are the Hobbits out on their journey before returning to the Shire? 4. Things (Red): What dangles from the left side of Gandalf's cart, as he enters Hobbiton? 5. Warfare (Yellow): What two spots are the Uruk-hai's body armor weakest, according to Legolas? 6. Making Movies (Brown): Who skipped the world premiere of FOTR to take her newborn baby to the supermarket? On the DVD, questions come with cool clips, sounds, ect. In addition, the game-winning question is asked by Andy Serkis (Gollum). There 20 separate Trivia `games' on the DVD, where you begin at the Shire (game #1) and end at the Gray Havens (game #20). While LOTR Trivial Pursuit can be played without the DVD, the addition of it makes the game-play much more entertaining. This is a must-have for Lord of the Ring fans!

It's totally sweeeet,
This review is from: Trivial Pursuit DVD Game The Lord of the Rings Edition (Toy)
LOTR trivial pursuit is just as good as it sounds. Anyone who considers themselves huge fans of the movies will enjoy this game. The nerdier you are the more you'll like it. The dvd's, however, are really only impressive from a visual standpoint. The questions are a little too easy and don't seem to get harder as you go on, like they're supposed to. The cards are mixed with easy and more difficult questions. All in all, LOTR trivial pursuit is definitely a must have for any fan.

I have the Star Wars Trivial Pursuit game and enjoy it immensily, so when I found on Amazon there was a Lord of the Rings DVD edition I jumped at the chance to buy it. I love that the game incorporates the special edition DVDs in the edition, increasing the difficulty without making the answers impossible. You have four characters pieces to choose to play: Gandalf, Frodo, Aragorn and Galadriel. Card Questions asked may be about how the movie was made to lines a character said to locations and more. It is fun to play the game over and over, as each game chapter on the DVD has you travel the path the characters did in the move. All LOTR lovers need this game!

This game is great, mainly for Lord of the Rings movie fans that have recently seen the movies. There are a lot of great questions and the DVD extras are awesome!

Not Much Fun,

I had high hopes for this game, but unfortunately, this product is average at best. The use of the DVD's slow the game and the questions are limited on how many times you land on a wedge before it stops giving questions and tells you to just ask from the deck.
Also the questions are lame, What faze of the moon was it when Golum climbed down the cliff in Eming Mul' (sp?), What color was someone dress in a particular scene, How many days did Gimili, Aragon, and Legolas track the Hobbits? Who cares, and the questions on movie making are even worse, really. |
