I'm sure this book was great in 2006 but now in late 2008 it is badly outdated. Trixbox has changed a lot and this book is almost useless. They should take it off the market.

This is a good basic overview of Trixbox and Asterisk. It goes over installing Linux and Trixbox and setting up the system. The book explains all the different settings and configuration screens. My only fault with this book is that is only explains basic details of settings without giving particular examples and in-depth detail of the settings. I've been fiddling around with Trixbox and Asterisk for a few weeks before reading this book and didn't learn much more from this book. If you're new to Trixbox this book is a good starting point.

This is a complete guide for newbies starting out with Trixbox CE and for a good reference guide for oldtimers, too!

I have been playing Trixbox for sometime and see a lot of things I have been missing that are actually found in this guide!

I am not a Linux Guru, and I only have a few weeks working with telephony. I found this book to be incredible. I read "Trixbox Without Tears" it was helpful, but found this to be much more comprehensive and well rounded. Easy reading for anyone new to the field like myself. SO if you are interested in a new adventure! Download the ISO image and buy the book, fun is on the way!

I know the book is for noobs, but i think anyone who is looking at trixbox has at least googled and read about it enough to know everything that's covered in this book. the book is really good to give to someone who knows nothing about trixbox/asterisk though, and you want them to get a basic idea of what's involved.

Very good for the first timer, it will answer your questions, it will point you to good websites for further research, it will allow you to get your first Trixbox system up and running.

Could use some fleshing out of the Index and I had some questions that weren't answered. Like how to create new password for FreePBX.

This is a good intro book for those of us who sometimes prefer a book to a help file.

This is the best book out there to get you started. With a name like "trixbox made easy" I was not expecting an all-inclusive reference guide, and you should not either.
