4.0 out of 5 stars Trixie Belden & The Mysterious Code
My daughter and I just finished reading this book, and we enjoyed it. Definitly one of our favorites. My daughter is anxious to write messages in secret code now! A good read for any Trixie Belden fan.

2.0 out of 5 stars The second star is only because it's Trixie.
This is certainly the worst of the Trixie Belden series. It seems to be written for a younger audience than the other installments. I don't think the series creator used this particular writer again, and with good cause. The "mysterious code" referenced in the title is discovered, decoded and forgotten in the first quarter of the book. The rest of the slow,...

5.0 out of 5 stars The Mysterious Code, July 4, 2000
As a huge fan of the entire Trixie Belden series, it is my pleasure to recommend this book to any young girl. I read this book as a child and loved re-reading it recently when I added it to my Trixie collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars My favorite Trixie Belden, June 29, 2000
I've read the whole Trixie Belden series, my mother collected every book when she was a little girl, and out of all of them, this book was definitely my favorite! I thought the code they used in the book was so interesting and mysterious, I still read that book every year, you're never too old for a Trixie Belden book, especially not this one!

This is certainly the worst of the Trixie Belden series. It seems to be written for a younger audience than the other installments. I don't think the series creator used this particular writer again, and with good cause. The "mysterious code" referenced in the title is discovered, decoded and forgotten in the first quarter of the book. The rest of the slow, repetitive story revolves around an antique show the Bob-Whites are holding for charity.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Read, May 16, 2008
While gathering items for the upcoming antique show, Trixie and her friends stagger upon an old code on a slip of paper that's attached to a key. What Trixie doesn't know is that the coded puzzle is going to land her right in a huge heap of trouble. In addition to all this, the school board doesn't want the B.W.G.'s to stay together as a club--but that can't stop Trixie and her friends from doing what they love.
Can Trixie solve all their problems?

This was a great read--Really interesting!

4.0 out of 5 stars Chapter 15 is even called "The Most Fun Ever"!, August 27, 2003

(VINE VOICE)
Concerned about vandalism at the school, the Sleepyside Junior-Senior High School board threatens to dissolve the Bob-Whites of the Glen and other "secret societies," so the kids decide to show how civic-minded they are by holding an antique show as a fundraiser for UNICEF. (Say, how can a school board get away with regulating kids' private activities?! This is America!)

This is a satisfying Trixie Belden story (except that the vandalism theme is forgotten after the first chapters) -- where friends and daily activities are more important than the nominal "mystery." The "code" turns out to be nothing much, but "Trixie Belden and the Antique Show Fundraiser" wouldn't have had much zing, would it? Still, there's plenty of adventure -- somebody seems intent on sabotaging the BWG clubhouse and stealing the loaned antiques! Blizzards! Faithful dogs! Criminals and critical illness! Games and popcorn around the fireplace! And this time when Trixie dresses up for a party, she means it and even enjoys herself.
