5.0 out of 5 stars One of Trixie's best adventures, set in the Idaho forest.

2.0 out of 5 stars "Hallie Drawled"
I agree with the other reviews. And I stopped counting the "Hallie drawled" tags - awfully distracting after three.

This review is from: Trixie Belden and the Sasquatch Mystery (Hardcover)
The Sasquatch Mystery follows The Uninvited Guest, in which we were introduced to Trixie's cousin Hallie and hear about her brothers Cap and Knut. In Sasquatch, Hallie hosts the BobWhites at her family'd favorite campground deep in an Idaho National Forest, and we become better acquainted with the three Western Beldens. This mystery manages to explore a potentially silly theme (the Sasquatch!)in serious manner, questioning the human impact on the wilderness and exploring the way different people react to the powers of nature (Di vs. Hallie.) I loved the feeling of bonding around the campfire experienced by the Bobwhites, despite the seemingly unecessary presence of "Miss Trask, Chaperone." We all know real kids would be making out in their tents and drinking by the campfire--but that's why we love Trixie's world. Miss Trask, as always, is a good sport, despite sasquatches, strenuous nighttime hiking, large rodents, nefarious logslides, slingshots, and geriatric battery. Sasquatch is one of my favorite mysteries--good look locating a copy of this, one of Trixie's best!

1.0 out of 5 stars This is not one of the better Trixie Belden books., September 7, 1999

This review is from: Trixie Belden and the Sasquatch Mystery (Hardcover)
The story line of this book is rather dated, and the characters don't act the way they do in other volumes in this series. Most of the Trixie Belden books are really good, but this is pretty weak.
