I STILL LOVE TRIXIE AND THE BOB-WHITE,
By A Customer
This review is from: Trixie Belden Starter Set (Paperback)
The Trixie Belden series is terrific. These were my favourite books as a child, I'm now 31. I come from a family of 12 children and my younger sister and I used to be so proud of ourselves if we could read a book in 1 day (which was pretty difficult when we had so many chores to do). We found the books so wonderful, we wanted so much to do all the wonderful things Trixie and her friends did. I started collecting the series when I was 11, I had asked my parents for Nancy Drew books for Christmas and I got Trixie Belden books instead, I quickly got over my initial disappointment and have been a fan ever since. Even though I haven't had much luck convincing my teenage daughter to read the series, I still have the every single book. Last year I read them all again as I hadn't read any in more than 10 years, after all these years and having read them at least 5 times each they still continue to thrill me!

Trixie Belden to be Republished June 2003,
By
This review is from: Trixie Belden Starter Set (Paperback)
Per Random House, the Trixie Belden series of books will be republished in June 2003 beginning with the first four of the series. This is a fantastic mystery series for younger readers (and all of us who grew up with Trix, Honey, and the rest of the BWGs). The mysteries are just challenging enough to be interesting, and the characters are both savvy and kind. With seven major players in the stories, every kid can likely find a character to relate to.

Trixie is my nickname because I loved these books so much!,

This review is from: Trixie Belden Starter Set (Paperback)
Trixie Belden, her brothers, the beautiful Honey Wheeler, and the rest of the Bobwhites were my heroes as a teenager. I read the set at least a dozen times each. Sadly, my mother loaned them to a friend who was ill, and I never got them back! Although I was a very social teenager, I sometimes felt more able to identify with the characters in these books then my own friends! What a shame that kids nowadays consider this type of reading corny and old-fashioned. I guess that's how I got my nickname-my friends thought I was funny for reading these books! The fact is, however, the stories are suspenseful and the characters have a down-to-earth quality that is much more appealing than the street-wise, sarcastic, and disrespectful teenage role models that are so popular at the turn of the century. If I could get my hands on a set of Trixie Belden books, I would feel like I had found a long-lost friend!

The whole Trixie Belden Series,

I am now 45 and started reading the Trixie Belden books at about 12. I loved them! I had a books 1 through 26, but over the years, they were misplaced or donated. Isn't there some way we who enjoyed them so much can persuade the publisher to start printing them again? I would love to have my granddaughter read them.

I am 27 years old and I read Trixie Belden when I was in my teens. Even at 27 I still go to the library and check them out. I absoutely love these books. They are so enjoyable. I live in a very small town and I can't find any of the books anywhere. The only place that has them is our public library, and they only have about 9 or 10 books. It is such a shame that you can't find them anymore. These books are such great fun and the characters are great role models for today teens. I feel that you never outgrow a good book. One day when I have children I hope to find some of the books and give them to him or her. Don't let anyone tell you that you are too old to be reading Trixie Belden or that they are for kids only. Take it from a 27 year old who still reads Trixie Belden all the time. They are for anyone of any age.

I too read quite a bit of this series in my early teen years. The characters are terrific roll models for today's youth. Honesty, compassion, integrity, strength and respect are properties that are somewhat lacking in some of our children these days. I wish I had held on to this set...I would be reading them and passing them on to my own little girl. If you know where to find them, let me know. I'd greatly appreciate it.

These books are great for teenage girls!,

This review is from: Trixie Belden Starter Set (Paperback)
As a teen I read the first 32 of the Trixie Belden series. I am now 28 years old and I have tried everything to find them again so I can pass them down to my little girl. Trixie shows girls that they can do anything and be anyone they want. They also have teen romance without sex, which girls need to know the difference. I think all girls need a role model like Trixie and her friends. Who knows, boys might like them too!

All my life I've had a bunch of Trixie Beldens sitting on my shelf. Just a little while ago I started reading and rereading them and buying them wherever I found them. These are some of THE BEST BOOKS out there! Unlike so many books published for people my age lately, the characters are clean and the plot, while undoubtedly suspenseful, is not bloody. I like finding books that I would be willing to live through. I can identify with the characters, who seem to have many of the same problems as me - no money, lots of homework, and tests. YEAHHH!!

Trixie Belden is smarter then Nancy Drew,
By A Customer
This review is from: Trixie Belden Starter Set (Paperback)
I read this series as a kid and found them much more interesting then Nancy Drew mysteries. I would love to find more of them and be able to pass the whole series on to my future kids. The stories were always interesting and Trixie was always compassionate and kind to others. Her intregrity and intelligence were great inspirations to me as a kid and something that I still retain to this day. Kathryn Kenny is an excellent author and was able to convey a scene or emotion with great feeling.

I'm a 43 year old man who read the first 15 of this series when I was a kid (they were my sisters). The books were really enjoyable and I recommend them for both boys and girls. It's unfortunate that they were marketed toward girls because their appeal transcends gender.
