Lifestyles of the Poor and Infamous,
By Buck Naked (Massachusetts) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Troia: Mexican Memoirs (Paperback)
Bonnie Bremser's matter-of-fact, fascinating story of her brief prostitution, somewhat coerced by circumstance - her Beat poet husband Ray was wanted by the police so they were on the lam in Mexico. Told in a true, unglamorized diary style which maintains the feeling of her life and the times they lived in, as well as some of the unintentionally amusing, dated Beat lingo, it keeps you reading, and wishing there was a sequel.
At least we have the original back in print. |
