5.0 out of 5 stars Unusual but very useful, March 26, 2006
This review is from: Trojan DC-9 Dolly-Cartin' 2 Wheeled Clamping Cart Unit with 9-Inch Clamping Capacity (Tools & Home Improvement)
I love this thing! I call it the "wallie" because we use it to move sections of Shed walls around. It is a mfg version of a similar tool we already have and use often to easily move around framed wall and roof sections into place from the trucks.

Works best with two people if rough terrain i.e. (outside). I have loaded 5 sheets 3/4 ply on it and roll it around the job with ease.
Also works to roll around 4x header stock. Just lay one end on the cart and pick up the other. basically a set of wheels on the end of an stick.

Never thought how usefull th little thing would be till you play around with it.

I bought this because it it exactly what I was trying to come up with on my own.
I used a mickey mouse axle and wheel system to move windows, doors and patio door frames but at the risk of problems. This thing solved that by clamping on whatever you are moving and rolling like champ. You know those fence panels that HD and Lowes sell....load them on this and one person can balance and move it easily by himself.
In addition...don't follow the advice in previous review regarding using this for moving beams and headers (one end of a heavy beam is still heavy). It works well by balancing the beam in the center and temp. nailing a vertical 2x4 to one end for a handle. I moved long 6x6, 6x12, and 4x14 with ease from the front of a home to the backyard deck by myself.

I used the Trojan DC-9 Dolly to install 6x8 foot privacy fence panels single-handedly. Terrain was a bit rough in spots but the DC-9 worked well, and is certainly strong enough for big jobs.

I wish that I'd seen and purchased one of these years ago. I usually work alone and moving big panels, especially drywall, 3/4 plywood and privacy fence panels, is no longer a relatively easy thing for me, now that I'm getting up in years. For me, this thing is a lifesaver. I moved a bunch of privacy fence and some plywood sheets with it today. I could only move one at a time because I'm not strong enough to hold up and balance multiple sheets against the wind, but it sure beats dragging them across the yard, like I did the last time. With the Dolly Cartin, I was easily able to finish moving the same amount of materials in less than 1/4 of the time spent the last time. But, most importantly, I was able to move the materials with much less effort. It seems almost like no effort at all, by comparison to dragging them. In fact, I'd say that carrying the tool back to pick up another panel, took more effort than it did to move the panel. I'm going to make a jig that will allow me to roll it, instead of carrying it.

The tool is heavy and strong, very well constructed. It takes about 5 minutes to assemble, with the only tool needed being a hammer to affix the wheels on their axles.

Highly recommended to anyone that moves large sheets of materials.

5.0 out of 5 stars Versatile tool, November 16, 2009

The ability to change the width and the large wheels make it very versatile. I was able to transport large, awkward, 200lb-plus framed stationary windows along the sidewalk, up a ramp and over thresholds with one helper to steady the load. I've also used it to comfortably move plywood and sheetrock. With sheetrock I fashion a simple plywood base so the sheetrock does not get indented by the cross rails. It's a handy devise for one man operations and people who care about their backs.

This cart is great. So far I have moved several 120 pound, 11' long x 2' high projects by myself( I can pick up one end and drop it down on the cart).

This looks great for moving MDF and other ungainly heavy stuff around. Young guys with good backs won't need it, but my back is very glad I spent the money.

This would be great for moving multiple sheets of OSB around a framing job. The big wheels look good for rough terrain or to go over hoses & electric cords.

The money I didn't have to spend for a helper paid for this thing in one job.
