Finntroll are by far the most known, loved & idolized band in the 'Folk Metal' genre. Nattfodd being Finntroll's most succesful & well known release to date. Infact I can guarantee around 75% of you whom are reading this most likely own it. This EP is more or less its companion, What I mean is if you own & like Nattfodd than you should own and like this. What your actually getting is 4 tracks you can't find else where except this album and of course the Finntroll hit Trollhammaren from the album Nattfodd.

TRACK NAME - TRACK LENGTH - MY RATING (6 *'S BEING BEST) - DESCRIPTION

Trollhammaren - 3:28 - ****** - Trollhammaren is full of gritty mid paced riffing & anthematic drumming. The vocals (though in Finnish) are audible enough that you can actuallly sing along after a listen or two (uncommon for most Finntroll songs). All in all a great Finntroll classic thats catchy enough to pull in new listeners.

Hemkomst - 3:46 - ****** - This is my favorite track on the EP. I love the quick catchy riffing and the drums pummel like thunder of the gods. Around 1:40 into the track comes a cool break away with some extremely pleasing folkish melodies.

Skog - 3:23 - ****** - The guitars in this track remind me of earlier Finntroll, Mid paced but hard & catchy. This song has a very 'epic' feel to it compared to the first two tracks.

Försvinn Du Som Lyser - 2:17 - ****** - The pace picks up abit on this short track. Quick paced drumming and fast riffing are well shown with some very well done acordian playing sets the pace. Though short this track stands out being the fastest song on the EP.

Helvete - 4:15 - ****** - This song has some head bang worthy drumming, Double bass leaves you wanting more after this track is done. The acordianish stuff in the back ground stands out alot on this track. Being the longest track on the entire CD this one is sure to keep you going back to listen. I love the end of this song, It's almost like an outro.

all in all your paying around 14 dollars for around 16 minutes of music. the question is are you willing to pay the price of a full album for 5 songs? Well I did and could not be happier and content. Truth is Finntroll held back alot on this keeping the songs more catchy than usual but therein is the reason this EP is important for Troll Heads to own. You get 5 good songs including Trollhammeren. The keyboarding on the second song sounds like Trollhammeren a bit but that's okay and the last song has a bit of a jazz feel to it I believe. It's nothing that you wouldn't expect from any other finntroll disc, but it's all that you'd hope for from one. There aren't any lyrics and it's blue inside which gives it a nice wintery feel. So if you like finntroll or a first time listener this would be a worthwhile disc to get.

Good CD, the music has a fast tune you can get into and it sounds perfect, but this one in particular is a little short.
