5.0 out of 5 stars Exciting, colorful music by a neglected composer, September 15, 2000

This review is from: Trombone Concerto / Concerto for Percussion Violin (Audio CD)
Robert Parris was a fine American composer whose work has been somewhat neglected in spite of many performances of it by Mstislav Rostropvich and commissions from the Detroit, Albany, and National Symphony Orchestras. It is powerful, beautifully crafted, highly colorful music, and I have little doubt that the Trombone Concerto recorded here is the best trombone concerto ever written.
