pun intended. This is a fairly lightweight umbrella and looks and functions very well. The lights create a nice ambiance around the BBQ grill or an outdoor table for evening use and comes in 3 different mode settings. Easy to operate. It has a long power cord (included) and plugs into the pole at approx 17 inches from the ground so it is not that noticeable or intrusive to operation. Pole diameter is something you may want to double check if you already have a stand to ensure a snug fit.

This umbrella will get you compliments all night long. It's light is bright enough to keep the party going without spotlighting the whole deck/patio (keeps your table lit). It gives off an amber/orangish light when lit up. Has multipule settings for light, strobe, alternate flashing, but you won't use them uless your up past 3am (if you know what I mean). Mainly you'll just use the full-on setting.

A couple things you need to be aware of, none of which I believe are serious enough to not purchase, but so you know what your getting....

- this is electric and does need to be plugged in (you get about 25' cord w/ it)
- make sure you have easily accessable outlet, this cord will run across your deck/patio when in use.
- there is no cover to keep it from exposure to the elements, so you definately need to bring this indoors for the winter
- the tie for keeping the umbrella closed when not in use is NOT attached to anything, don't lose it or you'll be using rope from then on
- get a good HEAVY base unit, you need to use the screw holes on the pole to attach to your base, this is made of aluminium and very light weight, so if it's not anchored to your base. The wind will turn it into a kite if your not careful. The den't on my grill will prove that.

Really nice umbrella and the color was pretty closed to that in the picture. Large enough to shade table and chairs and very easy to set up. Lost a star as the material was not as heavy/thick as I would have liked and a little light comes through.

I order this umbrella on 8/23/09 was at my house on8/25/09. Got the chance to put it up today, was impressed with the lights, and the umbrella cranks open, and close. Also has tilt functions. Very good, for the price.

It's very hard to buy an umbrella online but this was a great purchase. Very durable, no issues at all. I ended up buying a cover because I don't want the brutal Florida sun to ruin it but it's held up wonderful and very sturdy even on very windy days. I have not plugged in the lights yet but I can't wait to see them at night!

Our first umbrella arrived in an undamaged box that was well packed. However, upon inspection of the opened umbrella we were disappointed to find that three of the lights had come unmounted. It appears the plastic clips used to hold the lights in place were poorly designed. There are no replacement clips included and there is no contact number from the manufacture to get replacements. We were forced to return the umbrella to amazon for a replacement. Second umbrella arrived in a undamaged box that was well packed. This umbrella had one light that was unmounted. Amazon would not ship another umbrella (only offered a refund) - they said "I'm sorry to hear the replacement TropiLight Lighted Bronze Aluminum Umbrella had the same problem as your first order. This usually doesn't happen. Since it's likely another replacement would arrive defective, I won't trouble you with another replacement." LOL I am not trying to be a pain - I just wanted an undamaged product. I would not recommend this product unless you are okay with the lights hanging down.

Talk about perfect lighting this umbrella is the perfect touch to any backyard. Love it. Good construction. Tilts in different positions.

For the price I was skeptical that the quality would be compromised. It was not. This is a great product, well made and very sturdy. The light system is a real plus. The strobe settings are over the top and I doubt many folks will use, but they are there if you have want a good conversation enhancer. I recommend this product.

pretty good for the price. Easy to crank up and down.... nice quality. Obviously not as wonderful as an expensive one, but great value for the price! I have not tried the lights yet, but its nice that the cord is down on the base of the stand.

I wanted one with solar lights, but was unable to find one. This seems nice, although running an extension cord might be an issue.

So I bought the umbrella with lights and it's a nice umbrella but came without instruction (for the lights) I know how an umbrella works!
There's a cord to (charge) the lights? I think? But not really sure. I don't want a power cord running down my umbrella and across my patio and I can't even imagine that that was what they had in mind. Does it have batteries, I have no idea.
So if you know how these babies work buy it, it's a nice umbrella, but don't expect any instructions!
