An absolutely gorgeous book. Stunning photography, clean and elegant graphics in keeping with the theme, and unbelievable houses in spectacular settings. The writing is smart, concise, and accessible--really makes you feel like you are there. A great armchair tour of some of the world's most beautiful tropical settings. A must!

This book is a wonderful collection of what is happening in tropical architecture. From the sleek Paraty House to the Open Pond Bay, different reactions to the challenges of the climates all under one cover. Great book for architecture fans. Thanks Raul, beautiful publication!

I loved this book. To me, it's the pure essence of green building. The book is divided by house, not by chapters, and covers the hows, whats, and whys behind the materials and styles the designers/architects decided to use. It made me think, and more importantly, it helped me understand why they did what they did with the materials available to them. I loved the the author explained the benefits of materials and site selection chosen. There are quite a few photographs to illustrate each case study - all of them beautiful. A great design book, with the added bonus of being a little trip around the tropics for the reader. I know I'll go through it again and again.

This book has a beautiful selection of very special modern houses chosen from a wide range of tropical locations throughout the world. The text is well-written and informative, and the choice of photos represents a broad array of beautiful solutions to the unique characteristics of design in the tropics. Book is highly recommended!
