Linda Kay Silva has found the winning combination for another action-packed adventure/romance: a smart and sassy heroine, an exotic rain forest setting, and a plot with more twists and turns than a coiled cobra. Megan has disappeared into the Costa Rican rain forest and it's up to Delta and Connie to find her. Out of their element, with few clues to go on, they must turn to old pals and new friends to guide them in this unfamiliar terrain filled with beauty and danger-deadly jungle beasts, Colombian drug runners, and vicious slavers. Can Delta and Connie reach Megan before it's too late? Will storm risk everything to save the woman she loves?
Linda Kay Silva is an exciting author who loves to hear from her fans. She is wonderful to work with and we are very exciting to continue publishing the Storm series.
About the Author
Linda Kay Silva is a fabulous writer. Watch for the next story in the sequel Storm Rising.
I just published my twelfth novel titled When an Echo returns. My publisher is Bella/Spinster Books, who also publish my time travel series, Across Time. I have been writing for 20 years. I wrote 4 horrid novels when I was younger...until someone asked me why I didn't write cop stories, since I had been one way back in the dark ages. I fought that urge, not being a mystery reader at the time and because police work was not a match for me. Instead, I took my Masters in English to education and I have been a teacher for the majority of my life. I prefer to touch young lives rather than arrest them. Nonetheless, one day, Delta Stevens sprang into my head, as well as my heart, and so I wrote. And wrote. And the next thing I knew...there she was, and there a publisher was, and there was the beginning of my writing career and my love of the irascible Delta Stevens. Like a love affair that sneaks up on you, Delta and her cast of characters came into my life, changing me forever. Perhaps it was Delta, maybe it was writing itself, but my life transformed dramatically.
Publishers have come and gone as the industry has changed dramatically. With Borders and Barnes and Nobles pushing out the smaller bookstores, smaller presses went with them...and so ended my publishers and Delta. But I kept on writing...and now, I have published 10 novels in a variety of genres.
The Delta Stevens Mystery Series are now back in eBook format. You can purchase those from Bella Books as well.
Teaching & Traveling Traveling also aids in my teaching world. I have been a teacher for 23 years, teaching everything from 4th grade to college, and I now teach at an American Military University online. I love teaching online, and teach everything from early American and British Lit, to Sci-Fi/Fantasy Lit, to World Lit.
When I'm not teaching, I am traveling all over the place, and just recently returned from a trip in Egypt, where I did research for the third in the Across Time series. Travel is my muse, and I see her as often as I can. I guess, in short, I have a great time and a wonderful life, and I've told people that I want my headstone to read "She lived an enviable life." I guess that's what I want for the people I love...for them to live the kind of life they envision...to write if that's what they want, to be a farmer if that is the life for them...to do and be what they dream because I am living proof that dreams come true. After ten published novels, I have a new dream, and I'm making steps every day to make that one come true.

I read this book because I was headed to Costa Rica and enjoy reading mysteries set in various locales. It wasn't until I opened the book that I found the main characters were lesbians. Except for some male-bashing and inclusion of only perfect super-women, I enjoyed the book, regardless of the orientation of the characters. I think the book is incomplete and that "Storm Rising" should have been the second half of the book. So much is left unresolved in this book I don't think it stands alone. I enjoyed the setting and the writing.

This review is from: Tropical Storm (Paperback)
There has been only two authors that have left me left me so emtionally drain and mad at the same time that you just want to throw the book across the room at the end. Linda Kay Silva is one of them. This by no means is a slight against the author, she took a big risk with this book and came out smelling like a rose. Well Let me take that back . I have to wait for the scquel, which I have been waiting now for over a year. That's a long time to be left hanging by a thread. I call Naaid it seems like every other week for her next book. I have read everyone of Storms adventures and they just keep getting better. Which is hard for a writer to do but Silva has found that magic. I highly recommend all the Storm novels. Tropical Storm the fifth of the Storm series, be prepared for the emtionally rollercoaster ride it's a book that will just make u stare at the ending.
