5.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous Nina, May 23, 2007

This review is from: Trouble in Bloom: A Nina Quinn Mystery (Nina Quinn Mysteries) (Mass Market Paperback)
Nina is just as sassy as ever in Heather Webber's latest installment of her garden mysteries. The characters are so believable and likable. The last chapter has such a hook that book 5 will surely fly off the shelves.
It's laugh-out-loud fun!

5.0 out of 5 stars Nina is at it again..., May 1, 2007

This review is from: Trouble in Bloom: A Nina Quinn Mystery (Nina Quinn Mysteries) (Mass Market Paperback)
Nina finds herself in the middle of another murder mystery, but this time she is wondering what turn her lovelife may take. Some new characters (I'm partial to Perry) join the storyline...and of course Nina is left with another mystery just when she has helped to solve...the Ditched or Hitched mystery.

4.0 out of 5 stars A really talented writer, June 17, 2007

Heather Webber's latest Nina Quinn book is pure enjoyment. Great characterization, interesting plot, lots of fun.

The last part of the last chapter, however, prompted me to give it 4 stars instead of 5. I do not like cliff-hanger endings and a writer of Ms. Webber's calibre really doesn't need them. Her books will sell because her books are well written and entertaining. The use of such a cheap ploy is beneath her. Leave that to the no talented hacks, Ms. Webber.

Very entertaining cozy for those that like light murder mysteries without all the gore.

Fun characters with Nina Quinn having a landscaping business, with her crew, that does "surprise makeovers" for anyone wanting to surprise their husbands or wives or any other family member with a new garden experience. Naturally she becomes involved with murder!

5.0 out of 5 stars Another great Nina adventure, July 19, 2008

This review is from: Trouble in Bloom: A Nina Quinn Mystery (Nina Quinn Mysteries) (Mass Market Paperback)
I really enjoy the Nina Quinn series and this one does not disappoint. I was not crazy about the cliff hanger ending but am glad the next one is due out soon. I'll be sad to see this series end as I hear the next one is the series finale. I really enjoy Nina and her ever increasing group of friends and relatives. Perry and Mario are welcome additions to the pack.

5.0 out of 5 stars Better and better, November 29, 2007

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Trouble in Bloom: A Nina Quinn Mystery (Nina Quinn Mysteries) (Mass Market Paperback)
Trouble in Bloom is the fourth book in the Nina Quinn mystery series. Nina is the owner of Taken by Surprise, a landscaping firm that specializes in one-day surprise makeovers for the yard. Something like Trading Places for the outside of the house. The books, set in Cincinnati, are full of gardening tips for even the brownest of thumbs.
In this book, Nina and her now ex-boyfriend Bobby go undercover at a reality television show to help Bobby's cousin find evidence for a lawsuit. Nina and Bobby have to pretend to be a couple again for the show, and they fight the growing attraction between them, even though Bobby now lives in Florida. When one of the hosts of the show is found dead in a hot tub, the pair have to push aside their attraction and concentrate on solving a murder.
The characters are believable and likable. Nina could easily be a good friend. Each book in this series gets stronger and this book is no exception, which ends with an incredible cliffhanger for the next book and the series.

5.0 out of 5 stars 4.5 stars--another good one from Heather Webber, July 22, 2007
This review is from: Trouble in Bloom: A Nina Quinn Mystery (Nina Quinn Mysteries) (Mass Market Paperback)
In Webber's newest book, the characters we know and love are back (well, most of them...Nina's Dad is not around this time and Kevin and Riley are scarce). The author has built up such good will with the first three books that I enjoyed this one by default. However, I felt the mystery/plot line wasn't *quite* up to the level of the other three, and our heroine wasn't really in any danger, which took away some of the drama. The writing and characterizations continue to be top-notch, however.
