This 5 songs CD, recorded in December 2000 in Olso, brings us Coldplay in peak live performance.

"Trouble" is a faithful version of the "Parachutes" track, wiht Chris at piano. The song remains one of Coldplay's better tracks.

"Shiver" finds Chris at accoustic guitar. Because of the layered instrumentation found on the "Parachutes" studio version, this live version sounds quite different. The energy jumps out at you.

Before starting "Sparks", Chris dedicates the song "especially to the guys that don't have a girlfriend", after which he starts questions some guys in the audience whether they have a G/F. Finally ("Do all Norewegians have girlfriends or are they just lying?" Chris jokes), he finds someone without a G/F, and Christ jumps in the song. At times, I thought Chris would not be able to reach all the heights of the tune live, but he did.

"Yellow" gets the greatest applause from the audience, of course, but otherwise is a straight rendering, no more, no less.

Before starting the last song, Chris asks for the audience's help to sing the last part of "Everything's Not Lost". Chris then takes a false start to the song, prompting him to start over. Coming towards the end of the song, rather than ending with a crescendo, we hear the audience repeating the last verses as the band is heard leaving the stage. Beautiful!

This CD is a fantastic memento for anyone that's been to a Coldplay concert recently. For those not so lucky, it is a superb live record, period. Good value too: at 25+ min., it runs (almost) half of an actual concert (the show I saw on their recent US tour ran barely over a hour). Finally, the sound quality is superb as well. BUY IT!

As with all of the live Coldplay stuff I have heard the renditions of their songs are pretty straightforward; however, as with all live music it has an energy that is only felt when a band is on stage. Chris uses his voice to accent songs bringing the majority of their uniqueness and variation.

Audience participation is sparse, but a fun addition when it can be heard. The recording quality on this recording is B+ for a live rock concert. Could stand to be tightened up a little bit, and I don't think the concert went without a clip or two (Shiver is the least amiable of the tracks.)

In the end this CD is for Coldplay fans, collectors, or people who just buy too many CD's, such as myself. But I promise that you won't be disappointed with the purchase. This is an excellent live performance and is a fun rediscovery of one of our new favorite bands.

This is a great CD for anyone who is a fan of Coldplay. The CD starts with the song that I see as their best display of songwriting to date, "Trouble". The live feel of this song makes it greater than it is on their CD, "Parachutes". On this song as well as the other four, Chris emotes great emotion in his voice.

As the CD progresses from song to song, Chris' voice starts to wear a little bit, all the while becoming a bit strained. However, this brings real poignancy to each song and makes each one sound all the more personal.

By the time of the fifth track,"Everything's Not Lost", you almost begin to feel as if you were there in Norway, on the front row, cheering and singing along to the band's performance.

"Trouble" is the third single from "Parachutes", following "Shiver" (March 2000) and "Yellow" (June 2000). The single contains 3 tracks and runs 14 min.

"Trouble" is one of the best tracks of "Parachutes", with Chris Martin on piano and as often is the case, singing about love, love lost and regret ("I never meant to cause you trouble/I never meant to cause you pain").

"Brothers and Sisters" reworks their earlier version, issued independently. This version, while still showing that it is one of the early songs of the band, is more complete, and also sounds "fuller".

"Shiver (Jo Whiley Lunchtime Social)" was taped at some British talk show if I'm not mistaken. This version is essentially an "unplugged" version from the song found on "Parachutes": no drums, no electric guitars. It makes for a very different sound, quite intimate. Very Coldplay!

I give 4 stars, instead of 5, because in comparison to the "Shiver" single and "The Blue Room EP", this single is slightly less compelling. Not a must for those who only know Coldplay from the current radio exposure of "Yellow". But a must-have for any Coldplay completist.

I enjoyed this album as soon as I heard it. It sounds amazing and the tracks are classic! I would recommend this album to any Coldplay fan that loves the sound of a good, clean, live album. Hope you'll take my advice & enjoy!

I know I really should be hating Coldplay for invading rock with blandness etc etc as a rock fan but I really cannot critisise such a heartbreakingly beautiful melody as this. I love to listen to it on lo-fi tape, extra bass, loud and relaxing at night time. It can carry you off into another world. Trouble is destined to become a future classic.

I thought this was the best Coldplay cd I could get in terms of sound and price. I don't really know how to review or rate it since my love for Coldplay blossomed a while ago, in 1999, when "Parachutes" came out. In my decision to purchase any Coldplay music, two requirements had to be fulfilled, preferably using the least money possible. 1. The cd had to either have "Shiver," "Don't Panic," or "Trouble," my favorite old Coldplay songs, on it. 2. The cd had to have "Brothers and Sisters" on it. And this was the cd to get. The version of "Shiver" isn't live but acoustic. The version of "Brothers and Sisters" isn't the exact one I was looking for, but it's still good. I think that one is toned down a bit more (acoustic) as well. In short, this single is a little part of "Parachutes", containing some of its best songs and an extra. But if you've never been exposed to Coldplay, go buy "Parachutes" instead and don't bother with singles until you've owned all their albums and major EPs.

What can I say, I was there! In Norway at the concert, great(!), buy it now! By the way you can hear me whistle in the background:)

Any way this artical is about whats going on with the lack of coldplay music. Take my friends brother he hasn't even heard of the band Coldplay.
I'm not the kind of person who just goes on about how great the band is, in fact it's not even my favorite band or song I'm just saying that it's time they were reconized for what they have done with there music. Their music videos are like nothing I've seen for a long time.
so if your not sure if you want to buy this cd go to the music downloads and listen you might be suprized.
