Trouble Don't Last Always is very heartfelt and moving book. in the story two people, both with issues of there own are thrown together a first reluuctanly but end up helping each other.

Lily Crawford is a very insecure young woman never loved as child, her mother was lose and father wasn't in the picture. She had no one til she met her husband Miron whom she taught was sweet that he was her savior. He ended up beating and abusing her til he broke her. She left him determined to move on then her car breaks down and she has no idea where she is.

Enter Dr. Adam Wakefield, once a prominent nerosuregon but now blind from a car jacking gone bad, he's angry at everyone and refuses the help he dsperatly need. When faced with a choice he doesn't like he choses Lily to be his nurse.

At first they are both unsure and not trusting but through the story they devolep a relationship that is strong enough to help them both. Through many trials and trubulations togther a strong bond is formed that end makes them both stronger.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good the second time around, March 2, 2004
This review is from: Trouble Don't Last Always (Paperback)
If you have read the book "The Turning Point" by this author, then this is the "exact" same book, only with a title change. If you haven't gotten Someone's knocking at my Door, then pick this one up. It gives the story of Adam's sister and her struggles with love. As usual, Francis Ray's stories are well written, and continue to be entertaining, I am looking forward to what's next to come.

5.0 out of 5 stars Standing strong..., September 7, 2004

This review is from: Trouble Don't Last Always (Paperback)
After a horrific beating that left him blind, prominent neurosurgeon Adam Wakefield is understandably frustrated and angry with the world. Lilly Crawford, fleeing from an abusive marriage, takes off for parts unknown and finds herself literally on Adam's doorstep after her car breaks down.

In desperate need of money to divorce her husband and fix her car, Lilly offers her services as a caregiver for Adam after overhearing a conversation between his mother and sister. Not used to depending on anyone for anything, Adam doesn't take too kindly to Lilly, or anyone for that matter, helping him with the daily aspects of life that a sighted person performs, and often takes for granted. Lilly stands strong, even though his anger terrifies her at first. Slowly but surely, she helps Adam re-build his self-confidence, and the two find themselves very attracted to each other. Will the insecurities each of them harbor destroy any chance they have at true love?

With a wealth of emotions so deep, TROUBLE DON'T LAST ALWAYS is a beautiful tale of love and perseverance that will bring tears to the driest eye and will soften the hardest heart. I am forever a fan of Francis Ray, and I applaud her on penning a story so compelling, so real, that even the staunchest critics of the romance genre will be sure to enjoy.

I am a HUGE fan of Francis Ray's body of work and I can't think of a bad thing to say about her books, in general, unless a character gets on my nerves. I believed Lily, I believed her struggle; I believed Adam & his struggle. It made sense that the seeds of love and care she planted as his 'employee' could/would only blossom into something strong. Nevertheless, when you've been broken down the way she was, I could see & feel how it could be unbelievable to her. I'm glad of the way she came around gradually and did not do a magical transformation. I only wish that my own transition mirrored hers by me having the courage to face the perpetrator of my not-so-great past the way she did. Thank you Mrs. Ray, for a believable character arc and one that I could identify with!

5.0 out of 5 stars One of my favorites..., October 2, 2007
This review is from: Trouble Don't Last Always (Paperback)
This is one of my favorite romance novels. It was selected as a book club read. I think I fell in love right along with Lilly and Dr. Crawford. The development of their relationship is so wholesome, you can help but not to. This book will definitely not disappoint you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved this book!, August 23, 2004

I read this book in two days! The best book I have read in a long time (and I read a lot of books). The characters were touching and real (even if the guy was rich - in real life this is a rarity) and you had a sense that you knew them. Francis Ray did an excellent job. This was the first book I have read from her, and I don't plan to make it the last. She has a way of putting you in every scene, and seeing and understanding each character. Though descriptions are needed to set the feel and tone, it was not overdone. I truly recommend this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Never underestimate the power of love!, February 2, 2004

I loved this book. Lilly was a strong woman, much stronger then she thought. She had to be to deal with Adam. But with a lot of TLC, and patience Lilly and Adam found something they both needed desperately, she, love and tenderness, he, the undying love of a good woman. Even with a new title,(the other title is Turning Point) which is also fitting, it is a great read.

5.0 out of 5 stars THE TURNING POINT later retitled TROUBLE DON'T LAST ALWAYS, July 28, 2011
By
This review is from: Trouble Don't Last Always (Paperback)
THE TURNING POINT later retitled TROUBLE DON'T LAST ALWAYS will be reissued in November 1, 2011. TROUBLE DON'T LAST ALWAYS was my first foray into mainstream fiction. The book was also a result of my own medical scare with my vision, but that's another story. During the research on domestic abuse I was saddened and astounded to learn that domestic violence touched 3 in 10 woman. Hearing some of the women's stories left me in tears and so thankful that I had a warm, loving husband. I wanted to do something for the women who weren't so fortunate and established The Turning Point Legal Fund to help women of domestic violence restructure their lives. The fund is overseen by The Family Place, a women's shelter in Dallas. So, every time you purchase a Francis Ray book, you help a woman in need!
