4.0 out of 5 stars badly overlooked, October 26, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Trouble With Girls (Audio CD)
I have discovered yet another overlooked band from the Heartland of America. The singer reminds me of Elvis Costello. Some songs are simply evil sounding, while others carry a catchy tune--ready for the radio, though I think the happiest ones are probably even meaner underneath it all. Chicago does it again.

4.0 out of 5 stars A must have for your collection, January 25, 2000
This review is from: Trouble With Girls (Audio CD)
Once was lost now is found. I thought the good ol'e days of rock n' roll were dead until I saw these guys jam out at Shuba's in Chicago. This album is cookin' with gas, you gotta grab it while you can.

4.0 out of 5 stars Add this to your collection, December 17, 1999

Personal favorites from this Chicago trio are Last Dart Leaving, Just How Evil and Licorice. These songs are tasty tidbits of pop rock at its best. While the hooks are enough, the real treat is catching Jeff Cohen's lyrics that jump back and forth across the line between acute observer and sociopath misfit. Other songs on the cd deviate from the Costello pop influence and cater to the alt.country (I know I'm sick of this term too but it fits) crowd. Pay attention to Cruel and Loud -- a great example of the tears in your beer genre.
