The Trouble with Luv Indeed!,
By
This review is from: The Trouble With Luv' (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
Xavier Reed misjudged Ebony Garrett from the first time they met. He judged the book by the cover and just when he finally saw the true Ebony, he again judged her unfairly because his twin sister and Ebony had a run years ago. He took what his sister said to heart and when he realized he was wrong and she admitted that she was wrong he still almost lost the one woman that was his soul mate. I won't be a spoiler and go into more details so you will have to read it to get the whole story. Great read!

Xaiver and Ebony, what an opposite pair. Xaiver, is laid back and an old fashion type of guy that believe in opening doors and paying when going out on dates. Ebony, personifies senuality, she is out spoken and agressive, she doesn't mind picking up a tab on a date. Ebony is all about enjoying the moment and not looking for anything serious or long term. Whereas, most females are thinking about marriage, white pickett fences, 2.5 kids, and a dog, Ebony is more concerned about making her business a success. On the other hand, Xavier want all those things and will not settle for anything less. Although, at first Xavier had preconceived notions about Ebony when they first met, however, after getting to know her he ,makes it his mission to change her heart about everything she believes is wrong about marriage.
I really liked the book and I am a fan of Pamela Yaye. BUT, I couldn't get with the scriptures she used. I know it's not a christian romance but please don't misuse scriptures, just leave them out.

This story was boring and I never really felt the connection between the two characters. I had it for a very long time but didn't pick it up because I have bad blood with the author and this book solidified that blood. Never again Ms. Yaye. Never again.
I respect the effort, but... no.

Ebony can best be described as a strong, black woman. She knows exactly what she wants and goes after it. A CEO of a billion dollar company, she works 12-14 hours on Saturdays and Sundays if necessary. She feels like her business partner and best friend, Kendall, should do the same. Kendall is happily married and wants to spend as much time with her husband as possible. Opal and Kendall are constantly telling Ebony that she needs to let loose a little more.
Xavier is a fine, strong brother, the type that every woman dreams of. He's a guidance counselor and a home economics teacher involved in church. He's looking for Ms. Right, one who is not bossy, and doesn't use her sex appeal to try to get a man. Xavier doesn't want to be used as a doormat. At a church function when Ebony and Xavier meet, he knows that she is nothing but trouble and wants nothing to do with her. However, Ebony wants Xavier on her terms and is confident that he will not be able to resist her. Yet in still, the strong man that he is does; needless to say she is shocked. Will Ebony be able to get Xavier to see things her way? `The Trouble With Luv' written by Pamela Yaye is the first book that I've read by this author. While it does start a little slower than my normal pace, I was very pleased with the read. `The Trouble With Luv' quickly falls into a must read page turner that I highly recommend to all. Best of luck, Pamela! Reviewed by: Carmen

Pamela Yaye brings two different yet independent people together for a relationship to remember. THE TROUBLE WITH LUV' is a deep look at how someone's past can drive the future as well as how someone's present living mindset can effect their lives in the future.
Xavier Reed is a hardworking educator who devotes a lot of time to his church in his mind he has what the perfect wife for him will be. When he meets Ebony Garnett he is interested but feels she is very wrong and therefore gives her the brush off but as time progresses, he realizes that one's perception can lead a person to the wrong conclusion. Ebony Garnett's past has drove her to be the successful businessperson that she was and with her rules of how her relationships were suppose to be she knew what she wanted and how she would take it. When Xavier Reed plants himself in the center of her life she finds herself falling hard and quickly but not before a few problems and her history with the Reed family can pop in. THE TROUBLE WITH LUV' was a slow start but of course as you enter the last conflict it's the largest of the book it holds a steady pace of how lovers work past their differences for the best. Pamela's writing continues to grow and improve I cannot wait to see what is next from her catalog.

Someone told me this book was good...no it wasnt. Maybe I like great romance writers like brenda jackson and Beverly jenkins. I kept reading hoping it would get better but it was like a train wreck. I mean these people werent stable and I thought we were past romance books where the people acted stupid like they couldnt have intelligent conversation and ask questiond like "are you pregnant?" this book was a wash I wouldnt buy again. I would have taken it back but I got dirty in the car.
